Absolutely fabulous and extensive collections with a particular beautifull and important collection of woodden polychrome religious sculptors dating back to the Middle Ages, and all the details of the previous principaute de Liege, its political and social structure long before the first constitution. Impressive!

Musee Curtius is a museum with extremely high quality of the exhibited objects. The objects cover the last 7000 years from a very rich stone age over an equally rich Middle age till a bit too small exhibition about the last 200 years of industrialisation and post-industrialisation. A couple of side tracks to a glass and arts exhibition adds to... More

This museum is huge, with a vast collection of historic weapons, glass-work, furniture, paintings, etc... Most of the information on the plaques is only in French though. Seeing everything is going to take about 1.5 hours. Every first Sunday of the month, the entrance is free.

An old place with new building next but a quiet place to visit and revisit because of the concerts there too

The medieval art collection is one of the best anywhere ... This is a gem ! Go and visit nearby the magnificent romanesque Saint Barthelemy church with its famous basptismal font !

This is by far a top quality museum worth at least two visits as it's very large. The displays are wonderful and explanations for some displays in multiple languages. You may also have an audio tour( for a fee) but I found it more enjoyable to utilize my limited French language skills. For a single adult it's 9Euros well worth... More

Curtius Museum has been restoerd during many years and now open to public in a very nice new place (entrance from Rue Feronstree). You may choose one part of the museum to visit in detail (take a guide or a visit organised by tourism office with a guide (take a dedicated one to art). A must. Very rich collections with... More

This is probably the highlight of the city, set in a very attractive complex of buildings the collection concentrates on local archaeology and history so if this is your interest it's well worth the time. No real stand out exhibits although some of the medieval wooden sculpture is very striking and as a bonus there's a decent little cafe on... More

This museum is really large, with many different collections. Most remarkable is the large collection of weapons from different eras and areas. Other sections are about glassware and about historic religious items. The Napoleonic coins are nice. Looking back at my pictures I also see nicely decorated rooms with luxury items, probably gold stuff - I forgot what that's about.... More
