The cathedral was still under repair but is still worth a look, in particular the roman footings that have been uncovered and are on display inside.

The cathedral when we were there in July 2018 was under repair, which means that both in side and out a lot of it is covered in scaffolding. Nevertheless it remains an extremely impressive building, again both inside and outside. You can still get in...More

Not the best time to visit as the scaffolding inside and out is an eyesore but obviously necessary to preserve and maintain such buildings. It is free to visit and there are some very beautiful items to see inside such as the carved pulpit and...More

As previous reviewers have pointed out, much of the building is covered in scaffolding, but you can still see enough to appreciate the scale of the building and its ornate design. Unfortunately, much of the interior is also covered in scaffolding so exploration of its...More

Wonderful towering architecture, almost overpowering the nearby Bell Tower (which is a sight in itself). The outside is partly swathed in scaffolding at the moment but even so you get a sense of the immense scale. Inside is beautiful, with clean lines - and don't...More

The cathedral is being repaired/restored after some freakish weather occurrence few years ago. This should not distract from the cheer size and beauty of it’s towers and enclosed spaces. Worth coming to visit for sure, besides, it is a short walking from the train station.

We went out of our way to Tournai to see this cathedral, but it was covered in scaffolding and being repaired. We thought we just had bad luck but a local told us it had been that way for about 15 years. The treasury was...More

The cathedral is beautiful with several colorful stained glass windows. They have a small museum of ornate religious artifacts for 2 euros that is work seeing.
