The management gives priority to arrongant, pretentious people who have no sensitivity about music or about people; who are intolerant, bItter and a disgrace to the World.
They do not indicate a minimum age for attendance; then you show with a paid sit with your 3 year old who is in love with music and has been waiting for months to attend the show. You try to teach your child that music is a "place" for tolerance and sensitivity and those who manage it take the coward approach of sticking by a disgrace of human being. This is how the world runs and these are the ones who run it. And music, in the middle, cos some people feel they are the only ones entitled to it.
A child who in 2 hours of opera said 4 times papa. Very calm and tender child who did not understand why we had to leave the music. A child who has been through so much already in his little existence and who forgets with things like music or ballet.
And what you get as a reaction to an extravagant attack of arrogance and reproach is " madame, mettez vous à sa place" .
The world is going down with intolerance, hate, entitlement and ignorance. And those who support it are just part of it.
NO, NO, YOU WILL NOT BREAK US, THOSE WHO WANT A WORLD OF SENSITIVITY AND WHO PLAY AND LIVE MUSIC FROM THE HEART.

La Monnaie ( Royale Theatre of La Monnaie ) is the National opera of Belgium .
Since the1700's there's been an opera house on this spot ,this is the most beautiful that was built ,the facade we see today dates from 1818,Classical architecture looks amazing in my opinion, there's been several reconstructions over the centuries ,the last renovation took place in 2017 ,it's such a wonderful looking building especially when viewed at night when this building was illuminated ,all in all it's a great building to check out if you're in the area and easy to locate on Place De La Monnaie.

My friends and I love the opera, and this is one of the most beautiful opera venues in Europe. The performance was outstanding as well. The only issue we found (coming from Miami), was the heating system. It was November and was cold outside but it was burning inside the building. We were sweating the whole time.

Marvelous building with amazing architecture and stunning attention to details. Not far from the main square.

This is an impressive space with a very interesting story (guided tour recommended as it is full of information). The work that needs to be done with various parties (stage set-up, decor, costumes etc.) so extensive and so laborious - how can you not be impressed when watching it all on stage?
However one thing is, when I visited it was a very hot day in humid Brussels and I thought the working conditions of staff is not all that well thought for, the costumes staff must be boiling in there. So perhaps that is to improve but otherwise for a tourist great experience!

There has been an opera house in one form or another for centuries in this location and this incarnation De Munt ( La Monnaie ) is without a shadow of a doubt the premier opera house in Brussels.
The Royal Theatre Of The Mint is one of the few cultural institutions to receive financial help from the Federal Government, an almost unheard of occurrence.
There had been several less grand theatres on this spot until the construction of this beautiful opera house, the facade dates from 1818 but there has been several major renovations on the opera house in the 1980's and as recent as 2015 and 2017 ,the beautiful Neoclassical style of architecture adds a bit of glamour to an otherwise rather drab square were this opera house is located, the impressive pillars give the frontage a classic Greek look ,very photographic indeed.
I never attended a performance,in all honesty I have no interest in the opera but I most certainly loved the architecture.
Easy to locate on Place De La Monnaie and most definitely well worth checking out.

The Brussels is a very classic one with very impressive and beautiful architecture. It is learned that the La Monnaie was reconstructed several times.

La Monnaie is the Belgian Opera House. The building is very beautiful with exquisite architecture. The history of the building goes quite a long way back, as far as the 17th century. The Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie (in French), or The Koninklijke Muntschouwburg (in Dutch), is one of the most well known Opera Houses in Europe and around the world. It is absolutely worth visiting. It does not fail to impress! We visited the area several times, during our week long stay in Brussels, and just admired the beauty of the structure.

The Theatre Royal de la Monnaie was first built in 1817 but following a fire in 1855 was mostly destroyed, only the huge front of the building survived. It is the centre of performing arts and has a grand interior.
