Lovely people, really friendly with a brilliant, if small, interactive gallery describing the evolution of the moving image. a 3 euro booklet worth buying and several machines where you can play your fill of Belgium archive films.

One might wonder easily which places to visit when one takes a holiday in Belgium. The Film Museum ("Cinematek") should definitely be high on your list. Two screen projectors, one to a small room and one to a bigger room. The small projection room is unique and especially build for the showing of art movies; the bigger, more 'real' cinema... More

This is a 3 screen complex, run it would appear on similar lines to the BIG south bank in London.there is an exhibition of pre cinema machines and also a black room where the originations of the cinema are explained.also you will find books and magazines on tables to read.I spent some time reading a recent issue of sight and sound.it... This is a free museum in a cinema, you can find all the technics and machines that built the cinema. It's the first time I see this kind of exhibition inside a cinema. Spend one hour and enjoy

The dingy Brussels Cinematek has been recently renovated: its accommodations are now brandnew and more comfortable. Alongside their heavy rotation playlist of some 500 classic talking movies and some 75 silent movies, they propose new art house cinema releases, special screenings in the presence of directors and/or actors, special retrospectives, one-off lectures and presentations and multi session courses. A certain... More

When you stay somewhat longer in Brussels or if you are a movie-lover, go to this movie-museum. They have nice old movies for a low price, right in the city centre. If you only visit Brussels for a couple of days, I wouldn't visit though... Except if it's raining all the time...

Nice cheap cinema (3 euro's). A lot of old movies, so you have to visit the website, before you visit Cinematek. Beautiful, central, good atmosphere.

I wish all cinemas could be like this. Do check their website before to see what films to check out and times. Many old films shown at frequent times of the day, the cinema itself was very comfortable and no eating and drinking rule made the film enjoyable to watch without background noises! Definitely go when in Brussels. Only 3... More

The reputation of this museum is considerable. Apart from its huge collection of old movies, it also organises lectures that are often very interesting. Before going there, check the program on its website : http://www.cinematek.be
