We just happened upon this cathedral on a walk around. It is free to go inside. When inside it costs €1 to go under ground where you can view the romanesque foundations of the church.

The impressive facade overlooks the city, and the moment when you first emerge from the trees in the park at and look up to see the cathedral is a high point of any visit to Brussels. Once inside (entry is free) there is... More

Maybe it is not among most famous attractions in Brussels, but it is worth a visit if you have the time and you have finished visiting the other main attractions.

St. Michael and St. Gudula Cathedral is a beautiful cathedral in the historical center of Brussels. The architecture is similar to Duomo in Milan.

It is a stunning Catholic church with a vibrant history and beautiful architecture. I would definitely recommend stopping in. It seems like its far from the downtown tourist area, but a tip is that if you see the Häagen-Dazs, just follow that uphill and you can't fail but see the cathedral.
