This is not a museum in the traditional sense: the museum itself is actually the house that Victor Horta built for himself in the late 1890s, which truly exemplifies the Art Nouveau style that made Horta into one of the most acclaimed architects in Belgium.

No other place will give you the opportunity to feel closer to the Art Nouveau genius architect of Belgium. From kitchen to bathroom, passing through reception areas and his workshop, a visitor can understand the typical bourgeois living of the turn of the century in...More

What a little gem! Great Art Deco museum/residence. A little out of the way, but don't miss it. Charming neighborhood, as well.

We went to see it and found builders and renovations so this is hardly a genuine review but advice if that's the purpose of this forum. Amazing looking building as many in the area are, l will return.

It does not have very long hours to visit, took me 2 attempts. And get there at lease 45 minutes before they close. I got there at 5:10 and they didn't want to let me in even though they didn't close until 5:30. My tour...More

Although there is only limited signage, the recreation of the property back to Art-Deco past was wonderful. Putting everything even a wallet into a locker before entering was a bit disconcerting, and it was disappointing that at least one other person had brought in their...More

The museum was small and pretty but if I weren't a fan of Mucha I would've thought I wasted time and entrance fee here. Horta's style is quite similar to Mucha's. If that and interior design/architecture are your thing, then you would probably enjoy this...More

This museum housed in Horta's Brussels home was one of my main reasons for visiting Brussels. It's an Arte Nouveau city with several well known examples of this lovely turn of the century style. The house has restricted opening times and too many visitors but...More

If you are an architecture lover you will not be disappointed. Every detail of this home is amazing. Yes, you have to put your stuff in a locker, and no, you can't take pictures, but that is a small price to pay to be able...More

If you're an Art Noveau enthusiast, Musee Horta is a must. A truly fascinating building from the inside. Due to spacial constraints, I'd imagine it'll be difficult to move around in busy times. I wish there was a guided tour or at least an audio...More
