This is not a museum in the traditional sense: the museum itself is actually the house that Victor Horta built for himself in the late 1890s, which truly exemplifies the Art Nouveau style that made Horta into one of the most acclaimed architects in Belgium.

The museum was small and pretty but if I weren't a fan of Mucha I would've thought I wasted time and entrance fee here. Horta's style is quite similar to Mucha's. If that and interior design/architecture are your thing, then you would probably enjoy this place. Otherwise, I'm sure there are more interesting and cheaper museums to visit in Brussels.

This museum housed in Horta's Brussels home was one of my main reasons for visiting Brussels. It's an Arte Nouveau city with several well known examples of this lovely turn of the century style. The house has restricted opening times and too many visitors but is probably worth the effort. But coming from Paris there is more Arte Nouveau furniture... More

If you are an architecture lover you will not be disappointed. Every detail of this home is amazing. Yes, you have to put your stuff in a locker, and no, you can't take pictures, but that is a small price to pay to be able to walk around freely and enjoy this masterpiece.

If you're an Art Noveau enthusiast, Musee Horta is a must. A truly fascinating building from the inside. Due to spacial constraints, I'd imagine it'll be difficult to move around in busy times. I wish there was a guided tour or at least an audio guide. I ended up getting a Museum guidebook to find out a bit more. The... More

If you are a fan of Art Nouveau, this is a must see place. This local gem is only open for limited hours 2-5.30 pm & closed Mondays. It is worth the trouble to get here from Grand Place. You can see the whole museum in 30 minutes, or linger longer.

I was happy to find out that there is actually a museum about a guy who's signature is behind of some of the most beautiful remaining buildings of the city. Since most of his job does not exist any more, at the musuem you can see a lot about his personal and professional life.

First of all, same feeling than many others : ugly reception, no smile , rude, .. Would be great for all the staff to look for another kind of job. Kills the experience. The museum itself is for Art Nouveau pure lovers, otherwise nothing really done for non experts people. Moreover, clearly overpriced in comparison with comparable places.

Had a bit of time, so decided to revisit the house after years. Bad idea if you are on business trip. Not very nice reception, now via some new entrance which kills the experience. Forbidden to bring phone with you. At that point i gave up. Sorry to miss a great piece of architecture, but the arrival experience killed it... More

We had a private guided tour there and all of us enjoyed it very much. Since there were not other visitors, it was very comfortable for us

A fairly unique visit inside a renowned Art Nouveau artist's house. Upon arrival, we had to wait to enter as the house was already at capacity (this is likely because they were only open for 3 hours of the day). They did not accept debit card for a student ticket because they said the amount was too small to warrant... More
