This is not a museum in the traditional sense: the museum itself is actually the house that Victor Horta built for himself in the late 1890s, which truly exemplifies the Art Nouveau style that made Horta into one of the most acclaimed architects in Belgium.

This museum, which is the house of Victor Horta, a leading light of Belgian art nouveau, was fine but not amazing. I say this because, while the house has been beautifully restored to the way it was when Mr Horta lived there, I had no...More

Wonderfully restored art deco home of architect. My only regret was not to be able to walk around the area to see some of his other work.

As a huge fan of Art Nouveau I was keen to visit this museum when in Brussels recently. The museum itself was tricky to find and also it's only open for a few hours in the afternoons.. The museum is beautiful and a stunning example...More

Of course the KGB does not exist anymore but so should the management of this house/museum. After purchasing a ticket for eur 10 with my Canon in plain sight I was called back rudely when I entered the house. Later, on one of the floors,...More

If you appreciate the architecture and style of the era it is well worth a visit. The warm 'autumn' colours are superb. But do check the opening hours as we arrived late morning to find it didn't open until the afternoon!

If you like Art Nouveau, then you cannot miss this. Victor Horta was a man ahead of his time. This house is a complete top to toe design, where nothing has been overlooked in completing the naturalistic flowing feel. The woodwork, furniture, glass and metalwork...More

This house is breath-taking. Spread over 5 floors, the rooms of this house are bright and welcoming, with stunning painted or wallpapered walls, mosaic and wood floors, built0in wooden cabinets, stained glass windows, and period furniture designed for this or other Art Nouveau houses. Admission...More

Really excellent house museum which allows you to experience the work of Horta. Some areas even had examples of other works and designs. The only downsides... they were working on the front facade so I couldn't really see the building itself (though I'm glad they...More

Four houses were designed and built by the Belgian architect Victor Horta, a pioneer of the Art Nouveau style. Stunningly charming interiors.
