This was a disappointment. None of the handsets worked for the children, meaning a pretty dull, expensive and un-interactive hour.

Would not recommend!

This was a really good experience. We had our workshop at the beginning and it was a fairly small group. The lady was really friendly and demonstrated how to use the piping bags and stuff. We got to make loads of chocolate like bars and lollipops. You could make as much as you could fit into one hour it was amazing. Would definitely recommend as you certainly get your moneys worth in chocolate!

We arranged a visit on a spontaneous family break to Brussels and had a highly informative & entertaining afternoon.

The audio guide had even our 4yo captivated as he made his way round, and highlights for him were both the free samples (of which he made the most) and the chocolatier demonstration.

Would be wrong not to indulge in all things chocolate in when in Brussels of course!

Workshop really good fun, host very knowledgeable. Came away with lots of chocolate. Great fun as adults or for older kids. Museum very interesting, but would be tedious for kids particularly young ones.

Interesting. Learned a little bit about the history of Cocoa. The place was queiet crowded.
It is not breathtaking but nice. The tour doesn’t take too long and it is relaxing.

A terrible place and a total waste of 14 euros. The staff are extremely rude and do not explain anything. When I asked for my self-guide to be changed into English (even though the cashier had asked), it was met by a sigh and a disparaging comment in French. The museum itself is very crowded, small, very hot and, frankly, extremely boring. The only highlight are a few chocolate buttons towards the end. I would totally avoid and save your 14 euros to buy some lovely chocolate in this wonderful city.

The title of my review says it all. This is a small museum that has a great chocolate story, but it is quite dated.

Your museum fee includes a handheld listening device that you tap on several squares on the wall that give you the audio behind the exhibit you are looking at.

In short, it tells how chocolate came to Belgium and how it got the reputation it has today. Sad to tell you that the cocoa beans are not even grown in Europe.

The plus is that you get to try five different chocolate chips as well as a Belgian “praline” at the end of your tour.

This museum is always crowded. It was somewhat annoying that you keep bumping into other visitors trying to tap on the audio squares.

This would not be on the top of my list if I was in Brussels for only a day.

This is a worthwhile place to visit and the self guiding audios are easy to use with lots of good information. There are opportunities for chocolate tasting and buying but they also do courses which I wish I had done now, next time.
The only thing I thought was slightly bizarre was the film on the story and making of chocolate which is a bit more Wonka than informative but that is only purely my opinion, you can skip through that if necessary.
A good place to visit

Do not waste your time or money on this. The place is run-down, filthy, uninteresting and just all-in-all a great disappointment.
I walked through the whole exhibition and was left with a very bad and dusty taste in my mouth. Not something you want when the museum is about something as delicious as chocolate.
