Impressive building, representing the centre of European Union. Very well executed architectural style.

The Council of the European Union building is a huge complex. It looks quite interesting. It houses the Council of Europe member states and other offices. We went there to have a look and tried to enter, however a guard told us we could not go inside unless we knew somebody who was working there already, otherwise entry was not allowed. We thought that was rather unusual, and left quite disappointed. Now we learn you have to make prior arrangements days in advance. This is not really very satisfactory, particularly for visitors who only have just a few days in the city and are unaware of the conditions regarding visits.

Dear Dimitris, we are open to all visitors, you don't need to know somebody to get in. :) Everybody is welcome to come and find out how European ministers work together. However, as you rightly mention, one needs to register two days in advance. This is a security requirement. No pre-registration is required for the Open Day, which is usually hold in the first weekend of May. We would be happy to welcome you to our premises on your next visit to Brussels!

Hello and thank you for your visit! Photos are allowed, of course! The only restrictions concerns photos of technical/security equipment. We will be very happy to welcome you again so that you can take as many photos as you wish!
