Must see this in addition to the Cathedral. Lots of Rubens work to see here. more than at his home! Big pieces. Stunning inside and out. Don't rush your visit. Situated in a lovely square. Very peaceful.

We tried to gain access to this church on three occasions over two days but it was locked. Speaking with a local later he said that access is only by phoning ahead and we did see someone being met and escorted inside. We were not...More

The volunteers are so very welcoming it was a pleasure to visit. The High Baroque style is not my thing but I can see that it is very fine of its kind and worth seeing.

We accidentally came across this church as we wandered through the city and were very happy we did! There happened to be a violinist outside playing in the courtyard with added to the special atmosphere. This is a Jesuit church and looks quite different to...More

This church, dedicated to St Charles Borromeo is situated in a quiet, very atmospheric Place behind the Cathedral. It is in the Baroque style and is splendidly decorated in gold. It’s chief glory lies in the magnificent wood carvings there. You need to check out...More

Located within a short walking distance from the Grote Markt, this church does not have the profile of the main cathedral. It is a fine example of the baroque style, and is in a less crowded part of the city. The area is well maintained,...More

Unlike some churches in Antwerp, this one is free to enter. Well worth stopping in as it's beautiful inside and out. The people who look after the church are very helpful.

One of the grandest churches in Antwerp - there is plenty of flamboyant gold to be seen here. The exterior was designed by Rubens, the interior was damaged by fire some years ago but what is there now is still very impressive. Lots of paintings,...More

Beautiful barroque church in the historic center of Antwerp. Parts of the facade and high altar were done by Rubens and his painting Return of the Holy Family is displayed inside. Most people will go first to the Cathedral of Our Lady nearby, but it...More

If you're in old Antwerp...pass by this church since everything is within walking distance. Free entry but not much big as the cathedral. Still very beautiful art work inside.

The jesuits went "all in" when they build this baroque jewel. If you are really lucky, you might see the changing of the immense paintings behind the altar ! Linger a while on the square in front of the church to admire the facade but...More

The church of San Carlo Borromeo is the most beautiful in Antwerp. A church with three naves of 600 in typical Italian style (says that it was Rubens who designed the façade). The interior is sober, but enriched by the wooden stalls of the confessionals...More
