The 'botonanique' is a tranquill oasis next to a busy street. Small pond flanked by an impressive Gunnera. Something to see in every season! There are also glasshouses, not sure when you can visit them. There is a lovely villa that is an eatery, it...More

The "Plantentuin" (Botanic Garden) is a small oasis of peace in the heart of Antwerp. The statue of Pieter Coudenbergh looks over a nice collection of some 2000 local and exotic plants, herbs and flowers, some of which are in glasshouse at the back. Coudenbergh...More

A really lovely get-away from the hustle and bustle of the centre. It was such a serene garden with many lovely plants and unique art pieces scattered. It is small but not busy at all, so easy to look around in your own time. Shame...More

On a rainy morning it was an excellent idea to visit the Plantentuin. Cosy, and intimate. Very peaceful in centre of tuin. Lots of interesting plants and shrubs. Some trees and water features. Compact but worth the visit. In a hidden corner tucked away there...More

Only spent a short time here, but is was a lovely and peaceful spot. A splash of green in the heart of the old city. Would have been a great place to spend some time reading and reflecting.

This is a beaulifull 19th century "herbs garden" in the middle of the city. They must have thousands of different plants there, along with a romantic greenhouse. Architecture and lay-out are typical 19th century.

The small botanic garden of Antwerp (“Botaniek” or “Botanieken Hof” in local dialect) is a lovely oasis in the middle of town, offering a pleasant mix of nature and culture. Like many botanic gardens, it was linked originally to a nearby hospital. The garden has...More

Discovered by pure accident as we wondered trying to avoid shopping areas. This little botanic garden is full of various plants, all nicely labelled and with several benches where one can relax and enjoy the view. It is free to visit and strangely it is...More

We always like to visit Botanic Gardens when we travel. These were nice but a lot smaller than expected. A nice oasis of calm in a busy town and full of colour in the spring of summer I would imagine. It has a large greenhouse.

I often come and walk in this small garden as it is really close to the city center and always peacefull and relaxing with no much people. Best season to visit are definitely Autumn and Spring because of the many trees changing foliage or blooming.
