On a rainy morning it was an excellent idea to visit the Plantentuin. Cosy, and intimate. Very peaceful in centre of tuin. Lots of interesting plants and shrubs. Some trees and water features. Compact but worth the visit. In a hidden corner tucked away there...More

Only spent a short time here, but is was a lovely and peaceful spot. A splash of green in the heart of the old city. Would have been a great place to spend some time reading and reflecting.

This is a beaulifull 19th century "herbs garden" in the middle of the city. They must have thousands of different plants there, along with a romantic greenhouse. Architecture and lay-out are typical 19th century.

The small botanic garden of Antwerp (“Botaniek” or “Botanieken Hof” in local dialect) is a lovely oasis in the middle of town, offering a pleasant mix of nature and culture. Like many botanic gardens, it was linked originally to a nearby hospital. The garden has...More

We always like to visit Botanic Gardens when we travel. These were nice but a lot smaller than expected. A nice oasis of calm in a busy town and full of colour in the spring of summer I would imagine. It has a large greenhouse.

I often come and walk in this small garden as it is really close to the city center and always peacefull and relaxing with no much people. Best season to visit are definitely Autumn and Spring because of the many trees changing foliage or blooming.

If you have the chance to be around in Autumn and Spring, do not miss a walk in de botanische tuin a very relaxing small place in the city center. There is also a small bar if you want to stop longer.

Small but packed with interest, well laid out and labelled, with a pleasing mixture of native and exotic plants. Particularly impressed by the cactus garden which is presumably moved inside in winter.

One fine botanic garden (Hortus) with a various kind of green plants and flowers of all parts of the world. Free entrance. Possibilities to make pictures and have a break in the park.
