Rich with history Antwerp’s Grote Markt is a must visit! The bridge of the port is lovely and going down by the water on a weekend means there is a lovely market! You can have fresh waffles or oysters by the North Sea!

The port area of Antwerp is a good place to walk and not far from the Grote Markt. This was a very historic port and the main port of Europe a few centuries ago.

Only a stone's throw from the Grote Market there's plenty to see here such as the old boats on shore, ships tied up, restaurants, ferry to go up river and a simple pleasant place for a stroll with good views of both banks.

Visited the Port on a tour of the City - great views, there is a tunnel which goes from one side the the river to the other to either go by car or walk.

As already noted, it is about 40 mins by train. Every city has its own Xmas market, so you have a grand choice.
