Just one look at the panorama created by this Dutch genius artist takes your breath away. What observation and what a reproduction of his vision. till today the same effect of the colours that he used way back are preserved by the govt. truly a never to miss spot in one's diary.

If you are the owner of a museumkaart then do not miss this one. Otherwise, the entrance for the Panorama costs 10€ + 1€ for the audio tour (you can also download it to your cell phone for free), but it is worth its money. You will learn about Mesdag’s life and work, and you will be surprised by the... More

Very nice how you do not only see the impressive panorama painting but as well learn how it was created, restored and kept over the years.

A great panel with a 360* view of Scheveningen 150 years ago, and some other very interesting paintings from Mesdag are a good reason to pay a visit.

It's very small but totally worth it. I'd say it's one of the best museums in The Hague. It's worth your while and money to get the audio tour - we thoroughly enjoyed it. You can't spend more than 45 minutes there but the museum shop is full of cool (though expensive) stuff. Really recommended.

It seems on the surface a bit 'tacky' as Victorian panoramas are very out of favour nowadays ... but this is something very special. You have to enter through a darkened corridor to adjust your eyes to the new perspective. When you emerge your train plays tricks and it really does give you a weird feeling seeing such a vast... It's hard to prepare yourself for just how incredible this panoramic painting is! Our group thought very highly of the exhibit and of course the painting itself, but we left with several questions as to how Mesdag painted it and how long it took him. A short video on that, along with the restoration process video that they showed would... More
