I went already twice to this museum and I enjoyed both times. It's hard to define the specific of this museum (it's name actually means world museum), it's an art collection from all over the world (the collection change but includes Buddists sculptures, Middle Eastern...More

Wereldmuseum is a relatively small, but highly entertaining museum. It has a string focus on both the African (temporary) and Buddhist(regular collection) cultures. At times it felt overly elite, with details and language far surpassing regular knowledge level(with sometimes words I've never heard before, as...More

Certainly worth a visit, but too expensive for a small museum (unless you have a Dutch Museum card). They do have Westmalle Tripel in the cafe.

There's a lot of Musea in Rotterdam, but this one should probably be in your top 3 to visit at all times. Especially when you're also going for a fancy bite to eat.

The building is situated on the border of dull and exiting Rotterdam. The grandeur of the inside is jaw dropping. The stairs curl up to high ceilinged rooms, with a view of the Maas river. As the museum has relatively little floorspace, the exhibitions are...More

The Persian exhibition is quite small and superficial. The part on warfare is just exhibits without deeper contextualization. The part on artwork a bit better presented. The exhibits themselves are interesting, though. All in all: good that I have a museumcard and did not have...More

Situated in a beautiful location, on the banks of the Maas river, near Erasmus bridge, hosted in a beautiful 19th century building, this very classy museum has a wonderful permanent collection, focused on Asia and Oceania. A lot of attention to details in recreating whole...More

This is a beautiful museum housed in a building that was first opened in 1851 as a Royal Yacht Club. Already in 1885 an ethnology museum was opened in the building. Some years ago the museum was completely revamped. From the outside the museum could...More
