We visit Dordrecht because it was well known as an old nice city of The Netherlands and we were not disappointed. unfortunately, it was late for a longer visit but definitely we are repeating the visit to this city.

Lovely church and we were just in time to hear the organ play! Lucky us. There are plenty of volunteers to tell you about the history and lots of explanations in dutch too. Nice peaceful place

On a rainy Tuesday this was a great find in Dordrecht. Imposing riverside location. Friendly and welcoming staff. Free entry but €1 guide leaflet in English if required - though very informative. Toilets inside were also very clean and handy on a city tour. Highlights inside were the stained glass windows, separate chapels and organ. A super find!

Firstly the city of Dordrecht in the province of South Holland which claims to be the oldest Dutch city with the Grote Kerk which has claims to be the oldest Cathedral. Secondly the River Maas which rises in France and flows east and north for... More

A church on a gargantuan scale. Lovely old place with some of the rather plastic deformation of structures typical of the town. Tower is quaint or bizarre according to taste. Very welcoming with interesting displays inside.

There's a contention between Dordrecht, Nijmegen and sometimes Maastricht for the honour of being crowned as the oldest Dutch city. The Grote Kerk ( Great Church ) in the heart of the Oude Stad ( Old city ) of Dordrecht is a mute historian of the life and times of this ancient city which was an important port of call... More
