Love this family run Delft pottery! All is still done entirely by hand. You see the people at work, right there, full with passion and dedication. Very friendly people. The don't ask an entrance fee and only sell from their shop. But I never felt pushed to buy something. Although I did as I love the colored pieces. I had... More

Interesting tour of about 30 minutes. I learned a lot about their craft. The tour was free. Their pieces were beautiful but expensive. They have Parking and a toilet - both of which are hard to come by in The Netherlands. Well worth a visit.

Two friends and I toured the factory and took the painting workshop after I found it on TripAdvisor. We knew we would enjoy ourselves, but it was even more fun than we expected. The tour was brief, but informative, and the painting workshop was the highlight. We were given a demonstration by one of the artists, Hans, and then we... More

We were quite uncertain that we were in the right place when we got off the tram, but we followed the directions in the Rick Steves book and it worked perfectly. You do indeed walk through a residential neighborhood, but then you see the canal and the factory (it is small). This is NOT mass production of pottery, but rather... More

We had a wonderful visit here, which is easy to get to (3 tram stops) from the train station in Delft. Only 3 of us on the tour so we were very much treated to personal attention in an un-touristy way. Learned about the whole process and, best of all, it was free.

Delft is a great alternative to the hustle and modernity of Amsterdam. It is older than it's larger cousin and has all the charms, including canals and neat architecture and great small shops. It has a wonderfully large market place with a beautiful church and tall steeple and a beautiful town hall also. There are plenty of places to sit... More

We went on a tour and 'paint your own tile/ plate etc.' visit on a rainy day in Delft. For EU35 we had a quick tour through the factory showing the process, painting and end results of the pottery in this little workshop. All very interesting but the fun part was the painting of our own tiles at our own... More

I was able to walk here from our hotel, but lots of bus tours stop here as well. Definitely take the tour - well worth it. Allow plenty of time to shop - up to an hour! All price ranges from inexpensive to exorbitant. The jewelry section is terrific. Lovely earrings, necklaces and bracelets, most very reasonably priced. An ideal... More

As well as attending the tour to see how the pottery is made, make sure paint a piece yourself. My daughter painted a clog while I painted a tile with expert tuition. It was my highlight of the holiday.

We did visit the Delft Pottery because it's possible to create your own tile from Delft Blue. After a small introduction about how everything works you can participate in making your own creation. The staff do guide and assist you. Really amazing experience. This is a dying art. A must see and must do!
