    Interesting Tour
Visited on a rainy day in May. We had the most lovely Hot Chocolate in the cafe with some scones and cream before the tour. It is a nice cafe with plenty of seating and really is a must during your visit. The tour itself is quite nice and we were lucky that it wasn't a busy day so we could do it at our leisure and enjoy the exhibitions. The videos at the start give a nice introduction to the history of Royal Delft and a decent insight into it's ups and down and it really is a good way to start and to make you think. It was nice to see the factory floor and to see the items being made by hand and to get a close up look of the process.

Worth visiting Delft just for this!
This was our motivation for visiting Delft and we were thrilled with the experience. We spent an enriching morning learning about the origins and evolution of Delft pottery, and visiting the factory and the exhibition of flowers. The written explanations and the handheld audio guides are clear and comprehensive. The cafe and the garden enhanced the experience. The shop carries a splendid range of artefacts, and is divided into two sections. One of these contains the 'cheaper' products, produced through transfer, and the other section, the more expensive, hand painted pieces. The staff in both the museum and the shop are helpful and friendly. A truly memorable visit.

Museum of Royal Delft Tiles and Goods
This is a small modern museum dedicated to, of course, Delftware pottery created by Royal Delft. It’s located a few blocks to the south of central Delft on Rotterdamseweg. Rooms are focused on the history of the factory and samples of Delftware products and art. This didn’t just include tiles, but all manner of decorative goods. One large room showed how tiles were used for architectural decorations in years past, although this has now fallen out of style. Finally, one can walk through part of the factory floor to see items being created. There was also a separate exhibition space; when we visited this was dedicated to photographs featuring Delftware vases combined with floral displays. Amenities included lockers and restrooms. There was (naturally) a huge giftshop with many items for purchase at different price levels. We also stopped at the small restaurant, where various sandwiches and snacks were available. The food was generally good, if service was typically leisurely. Highly recommended for fans of art, local history, and Delftware pottery. The museum isn’t very large, so one could probably complete a visit in less than two hours.

    Learned so much!
Amazing place. IMO it’s not that small but you can definitely stay easily for 2 hours. It is very well set up for English speakers. There is a short film on the history which you can hear on your audio guide, but there were subtitles too. Then you move into another room which looks like a movie set and it goes into even further detail with footage of the director and master trainer on design and make. The is a huge gift store with very expensive gifts down to postcards and trinkets. Also a cafe looked nice but on the smaller side. I did not eat there but it opens up into a beautiful little garden courtyard with pond. I would have eaten there but had to much to see so I can’t comment on it. Also you might want to check ahead for any temporary exhibits. The one that was there was as good as the permanent museum display. All in all very well done. Oh and it was 15€ but it was worth it to me. It is also about a 20-30 minute walk from the market place but such a lovely walk through neighborhoods that were gorgeou! Thanks to Ava for answering all my questions, she was so knowledgeable and made my stay even better! She says she loves to read reviews so I hope she sees this. Thank you!!!

Good museum - GREAT shuttle driver
The museum and factory of Royal Delft is a great expereince. The historical information and displays are well wriiten and presented and it is amazing to watch artists paint the delicate designs on Delftware. The highlight of the museum though was the shuttle that takes you back and forth from the main square in Delft. We had the good fortune to meet Peter van der Kraaij whose knowledge of the history of Delft was inspiring. He was able to point out spots where Vermeer painted and key places in the history of the city. He was very kind to my brother who wears a leg brace and insured that he was safely taken care of. Peter is a cartographer with insights and sincere enthusiasm for the history of his native city. Royal Delft should be praised for having such a treasure in Peter. Meeting him and learning from him was THE highlight of our ten day trip in the Netherlands. .

If you are in Delft, it's worth a visit to this factory and museum. The museum has a good layout and there are signs for all the displays. It's a fascinating look at a craft that crossed over from China and became Dutch. The factory itself is fascinating and there was an artist at the day who was handpainting a plate. The gift shop has unique pieces that would make a good gift. There's alao a small cafe for those who just want to wait

Highly recommended.

It has been 49 years since I last visited Delft with my parents. I have a small collection of pieces and also the ones my mother bought. This was my first visit to the factory. I enjoyed seeing one of the artists painting a bowl and the various molds. Beautiful displays and I enjoyed the audio tour. Cute cafe with super Dutch apple pie!!!

Really enjoyed this museum. The hand held audio device was perfectly fine for my mum who wears hearing aids. Very interesting collection and I like the ‘extra information’ computer points in each room. Lovely to see a couple of people working in the factory on a Sunday too. You can visit the shop and cafe without an entry ticket.

There’s a video to enjoy pre tour - you get an audio device to listen to as you walk around. After seeing lots of old samples, and the original model show house you then get to look around the factory - all very interesting - the gift shop at the end has some very expensive pieces so be careful what you pick up!

My husband was interested in the Delft blue and so we decided to visit Delft and the museum although it was originally not in our plan. Be warned though that it is a long walk (about 20 minutes) from the Delft central station. The museum provided access to an audio tour. It was interesting to learn the history of the Delft blue and its evolution over time, from mainly blue and white porcelain, to the incorporation of colours, to tiles and finally to external materials for buildings. It was also fascinating to find out that the Dutch was influenced, and even inspired, by Chinese pottery.

We visited the Royal Dutch Delftware Museum and factory as part of a riverboat tour. You learn about the history of the company which goes back to the 17th century, observe how the the beautiful pieces are made and painted and visit a gift shop with lovely items for sale.

The Delft experience is well worth.
The tour is almost in all done by AI and it works very well. It is a self guided tour firstly on the history and then through the working factory where real people are working.
Well worth and very interesting. Good for children as well

Very enjoyable and informative. The audio guide was very useful. You learn about the history of delft blue and you get to see it being made as you walk through factory area. The painters and others must be very patient to have all theses onlookers watching every day! Highly recommend.
