Sacred Art and Artefacts of the Roman Catholic Church.

This museum has a very large collection of art related to worship and the catholic church. On weekdays it is also possible to visit the cathedral next door.

Hence, not terribly interesting if you can't understand what you are viewing. Below my expectations.

What a wonderful collection of early catholic art and church items some as early as early medieval times. The riches displayed were unbelievable and their presentation was great. Special exhibit Tanakah, Bible-Koran displayed old manuscripts that were centuries old.

The vast number of early Christian artifacts was outstanding. The works of art on display from early medieval times to some current items on display. The reliquaries were amazing in gold with stones, the bishop robes were beautiful, the displays were done in chronological order so it was easy to follow. Presently there was an exhibit by Heilig Shrift discussing... More

An amazing collection of art from all ages - from about 1000 CE up to late 1800s (plus a few contemporary items as well). A great temporary exhibition on the Torah / Bible / Koran - Up until Jan 17

Charming building, great central location, fun expo's for kids too. Great for a rainy day, or, if you really love art, great for a beach day too :-)

Such a peaceful place. I had a lovely time hanging around there with some friends. As many other buildings in the city, it has lovely gardens with some fountains. Also great for pictures.

This is a lovely museum of religious art with everything well displayed. There are some absolutely beautiful pieces of gold work and many fine paintings. I had a useful audio guide in English. Make sure that you allow yourself a couple of hours so as not to feel rushed.

It was due to a conference, that i have learned about it. But... it was worth it. High class art in a beautiful building. Mainly aimed to those who has a religious and heritage interest. Recommended Shahar

This is a remarkable collection, especially the earliest works that in many cases were fortunate to survive the Protestant Reformation and the destruction of religious objects that often came with it. The displays are well-showcased, albeit in what sometimes appeared to be a bit out of sequence as one walks through, but that is a minor drawback. My chief complaint... More
