The house is in the historical center of Amersfoort in an peaceful and characteristic area where it is pleasant to have a walk. Here he is born and lived the first 8 years of his life. There is a permanent exposition on the world of Mondriaan, which provides information about his life; moreover, the museum hosts thematic expositions, as the... More

The downstairs exhibition area could partly use some modernization with audio/visual equipment. It is now filled with older handsets that are noisy to put back into there cradles, especially if a lot of visitors are in the museum. The ceiling/wall ribbon with art that belongs to certain years/eras is neat. The replica of the Paris appartment is a nice touch... More

Sadly 10 € is an unjustifiable charge for this only marginally interesting museum. All the explanations are in Dutch only, there are no actual Mondrian paintings on view, nor even much of a sense of what the building was like when he lived here, just a small reconstruction of his studio in Paris and a rather ordinary exhibition which attempts... Mondriaan was born here and spend the first 8 years of his life here. The city bought the house and opened the museum in 1990, so if you are looking forward to how the Mondrians lived you wont. Highligts though is some of his earliest figurative art

No original later pictures. Few early works, very dark and seemingly unconnected to his later style. Uninformative exhibition of modern artists.

This is Mondrians house where he lived for his first 18 years. Inside is a replica of his studio where he worked and some of his works. The space also exhibits work of the artists he inspired. The timeline of his artistic development was also very good. Great museum.

We very much liked. It's a small exhibition, first time this Chinese artist is on show in the Netherlands. He much admired Mondriaan, Hence exibition takes place in the Mondriaanhuis. We particularly liked the book paintings and the compositions with Bamboo. The exhibition runs until 9 October. Well worth a visit, in case you are in Amsersfoort, or make a... More

This was a nice museum to visit to learn more about the life of Mondriaan. It is easy to find with the wonderful street signs of Amersfoort. Visit after taking the canal trip and you receive 4 euro off each ticket. That leaves 8 euro cost. There are some steps and twists and turns in the museum. If you are English... More

Set beside a picturesque canal this is a must if visiting Amersfoort ,the set up and story of Mondrianns life is fascinating visit that part of the museum first then go into the replicated apartment and studio recreated as it was in his life. This gives a clear understanding of how he lived and worked.Indeed how Parisians lived in the earlier... The Mondriaanhouse had a nice collection of paintings at the time we were there called "Cobra to Zero'. Modern art you could watch in combination with the Flehite Museum.
