Most synagogues I have seen are either classic buildings or very modern ones. This was built in the 30s and survived basically intact WWII. The architect is de Bazel. The tour (1h15m) was absolutely great.
I was part of a small group that had a guided tour to the synagogue and our guide was excellent and had fascinating stories about the synagogue and its community. The building itself was beautiful, with interesting art deco style detailing.
