When I was told that Amsterdam had a beach I wasn't expecting much, however I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The beach is lovely, it is lined with restaurants/bars and each has their own sunbed section which you can rent for around 7 euro

We usually go to the beaches in The Hague so expected Zandvoort to be pretty similar. The beach itself is lovely - nice and long with lovely soft sand. The area around the beach is not so nice. We arrived by car and getting a...More

The length of this beach changed my life! So very long and beautiful this beach is. A lot of people, but plenty of room to make this beach your own. Great place for swimming and body surfing BUT it is the North Sea and NOT...More

Can't believe "Amsterdam" has a beach lol even if I was laughed at by the train conductor upon asking for directions. Literally 20-30 minutes by train to this lovely golden beach stretching for miles. Don't be put off when you get off the train, yea...More

While staying in Amsterdam I highly recommend this very beautiful relaxing beach . The town is charming in itself. A train ride from Amsterdam is 10:00 Euro round trip takes around twenty five minutes. You will be glad you came here . I greatly enjoyed...More

Definitely worth the 31 minute ride out from Amsterdam centraal station. Also, it was easy to go straight from Zandvort to Schiphol airport and only took 40 minutes. We were surprised at how wide and long this beach is. It's been poorly developed over the...More

What a great beach. It's nice and long and consists of really fine grain sand. There's the odd bit of litter here and there but in general it's quite a clean beach. There's apparently 30 bars along this stretch. We stopped off at Hippie Fish...More

Hubby and I visited here when we were staying in Haarlem. We got the train direct from Haarlem station, which cost €3.30 per person, one-way. There was a huge 10K run going on that day, and we followed the masses of runners out of the...More

I am reading all over the internet that there is are direct sprinters from Amsterdam Central to Zandvoort aan Zee, but when I try to plan my route or look up time schedules for trains, I am routed to take 2 to 3 different modes of transportation with multiple stops... Can someone help me out here? I feel I am pretty good with Amsterdam's public transit, but I can't figure out why I can't find this simple and direct sprinter that everyone else seems to have taken! Thank you!
