This is a working windmill that grinds pigments and dye to make paint. Its fascinating to be inside the windmill and there is an opportunity to climb the windmill and get some great views, I chose not to climb for health reasons but I stood by a small window and got a perfect view!

I recommend entering this mill as it offers a climb to an outdoor platform from which you experience a nice view. Plus, it's interesting.

This is one of the only working paint windmills left in the world and it was fascinating to hear the Miller explain how it all works and answer our questions afterwards. Obviously the mill only works when the wind is strong enough to turn the sails and this is not often, so I think it’s more of an exhibit rather than money making from producing paint dye etc (guess most income is generated from tourists). However, De Kat was still an interesting experience which forms part of the larger living museum and entrance is 5euros

In a land full of windmills, this one stands out. We had a great time learning about the factory and the paint. Recommended

This is one of several windmills in a row. There are several places from outside that one can photograph it. Can get a bit cramped inside.

My visit to Molen De Kat really was the icing on the cake of my visit to Old Holland. As if not seeing the windmills along the river bank was enough, to actually get inside one, see the workings, learn about its history, and stand on its platform is a true experience in itself.

This village has working windmills, clog making and cheese making on site.
The Village is lived in by the workers, so you have to be respectful to property and the people.
Cheese tasting was an experience, lots of different tastes and smells.
The clog making was fascinating.
Cafés, ice cream lots of places to sit if tired from climbing the ladders in the windmills lol.
Well worth the money. Would definitely recommend this trip.
Windmills not suitable for people with disabilities as ladders are very steep but rest of the Village is ok.

A special family, with great attention to detail, with a performance of impeccable service. I drank a hot, fragrant chocolate that reminded me of my childhood.
