We were only a group of three, including two kids, and received the full fledge tour, explanation and hands-on experience on the cheese making and wooden shoe making. Great value away from the large(r) tourist groups

We visited just the wooden shoe factory. What an experience! The demonstration was quite unreal. We were amazed at the engineering of the machinery to make the clogs. Who knew they were waterproof? Though a little pricey for our budget, we are sure they are quite comfortable. We did purchase some Christmas ornaments from the shop.

I went here as an included Shearings trip, we went into the cheese factory first, where the cheese making process was explained, then had samples, it is possible to buy the cheese. We then went to the clog factory on the same site, we saw a clog being made. The site is well worth a visit, recommended.

When we are on the coach tour from Amsterdam to England, via Belgium, our guide took us to this factory where they manufacture wooden shoes from a single piece and also the Gouda cheese, which is famous in Holland. It is situated in the country side. All the tourist are thronging this place as there is the manager who takes us to all the corners of the factory and explains every thing with a punch of Humour, both regarding the manufacture of Cheese and the Wooden shoes, which is something I have never seen in any part of the world before. it was a good and informative tour, plus we were allowed to taste the cheese. We could buy some items too.

Unmissable. Such characters too. Demonstrations and cheese tasting. Brilliant. Impossible not to come away with either clogs or cheese.

Just before you get to Volendam there is a Cheese and Clog retail outlet without the crowds. They have two separate venues for the cheese and clogs and sales assistants are in attendance in traditional clothing. A good variety of items are available for purchase in a variety of sizes and quantities. The facility is clean and well kept.

Nice cheese making demonstration (wooden clog making, as well). Following the brief "how to", many samples to taste in the Shop. From newly crafted cheese to ones that have been aged for a couple of years. From cheese made with cow, sheep and goat milk. Though we (2 couples) purchased 8 different types and consumed much of it within 2 days over a bottle or four of wine, if you don't break the wax casing it is legal to bring back to the States (so Customs advised me...I did report it).
