Haarlem has an old and long history and that you can see and feel here! The market square is large and with many interesting ancient buildings surrounded. The true heart of Haarlem

Haarlem is a short train ride from Amsterdam and worth a visit especially on a Saturday to experience the market.Lots of stands selling;fruit, bread, cheese, clothing and Dutch street food.Nice to stroll around and explore.

It was one of the smallest uninteresting markets I have ever been to. After looking at the reviews I thought must go and have a look but was very disappointed because it really had next to nothing there!

What a wonderful mix of the old and the new! Probably one of the coolest modern additions I noticed at the Haarlem Grote Markt was the presence of at least one drinking water fountain for refilling bottles!

The busy Saturday market had an excellent array of stalls. The food on display looked wonderful, and of a high quality, obviously popular with locals. There were several flower stalls selling beautiful flowers and bouquets for a fraction of the price back home. My wife...More

The market on Saturdays is wonderful. It was better than the larger markets that we visited in Amsterdam. Plenty of delicious bread and produce. Make sure to try a nutella stroopwaffel, but you probably want to share it with someone. We were there for two...More

We were there on Easter weekend so there was a lovely market going on. We spent time just exploring and shopping. This is a beautiful square and thankfully we have been there before as we weren't able to really see the square while the market...More

Beautiful architecture in a lovely medieval square. Lots of great shops and restaurants surrounding but not so crazy busy with huge crowds. If you’re coming all the way to Haarlem, this is an easy must do.

This is a lovely old square to visit. There us a market on some days too. Plenty of bars and restaurants adorn it.
