Kimberly gave a fun and insightful tour. I loved getting the history of the area and how it has evolved. I would recommend doing the tour to get a good overview of the area and then exploring more on your own.

How to introduce teen boys to Amsterdam's Red Light District without embarrassing all of us? Outsource to Kimberly! She took us through streets, courtyards and alleyways, explaining everything in a very matter of fact way. She answered all our questions and kept the whole tour age appropriate. We all learned a bit of history and a bit about the sex... More

Hats off to Kimberley of Randy Roys. She is a great tour leader and made sure we knew all the history of the district as well as some of the more salacious information. She was informed, charming and organised, and this is one of the best guided tours we have been on. She took us to a charming old bar... More

First, let me say that the red light district is not my thing. The only reason I agreed to go on this tour was because my sister-in-law's friend who was living in Amsterdam recommended it, and they wanted to go. But I will say that it was a safe and mostly comfortable way for me to see as much as... More

Did the tour on a Saturday evening, and it was chaotic, but interesting and fun. Kimberley did a good job of giving us a bit of general Amsterdam history, and provided the relationship of that to the history of the Red Light District. We did kind of a whirlwind tour, stopping every so often for the verbal components, over 90... More

Two couples with Kimberley for this tour and it was excellent. She was great with the local tidbits about the redlight district and the history and current vibe of the entire downtown area.

We were going to walk the area without a tour but decided not to...a choice we don't regret! Our guide Kimberly was excellent and knowledgeable. She's been doing the tours for 11 years and knows the area inside out. Ps the tour includes a drink at the end! There's lots of history to learn a very interesting area, well worth... More

Kimberley was charming and articulate. She led our group of seven through various streets, stopping frequently to provide stories. After about an hour and a half of touring she took us to a quirky bar where she offered us a beer, glass of wine or soda. She sat with us for another 1/2 hour sharing more stories. I suggest that... Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
