My wife & I walked past this quirky building and the strange slope caught our attention, which we thought was quite cool. It's like the leaning tower of Pisa, but not a tower. Fun to take a trippy photo, then move on as there's nothing...More

The facade of this stately old Salvation Army building "Arms of Riga" leans slightly forward. It used to be said that this type of house stands "on the run" (op de vlucht). Stone on wooden frame, which would explain the lopsided look. Very good looking...More

I'm a sucker for any old, red-shuttered building in Amsterdam, and this warehouse, now re-purposed as a hostal, and built at the beginning of the 17th Century, fills the bill.

If you want to admire some old and cool Amsterdam architecture then this place is a good place to go. Located on a canal in De Wallen, you can feel the age oozing from the building. Great photo op.

Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the
Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its

view some of the city’s most picturesque canals,
historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples
of traditional local architecture – not to mention
Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist
temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some
