The facade of this stately old Salvation Army building "Arms of Riga" leans slightly forward. It used to be said that this type of house stands "on the run" (op de vlucht). Stone on wooden frame, which would explain the lopsided look. Very good looking...More

I'm a sucker for any old, red-shuttered building in Amsterdam, and this warehouse, now re-purposed as a hostal, and built at the beginning of the 17th Century, fills the bill.

If you want to admire some old and cool Amsterdam architecture then this place is a good place to go. Located on a canal in De Wallen, you can feel the age oozing from the building. Great photo op.
