Easy to miss when walking by, ring at the door and wait for the door to opened for you. Jazz music in the background, funky old style green wallpaper and comfortable English style couches and a great selection of coktails; try the Penicillin. Also a...More

Really lovely bar with a mysterious feel to it. Ringing the door bell and being let in really gave the place a mysterious feel and an element of surprise. The place had beautiful decor and we felt like we were in a secret hideout. The...More

Ahhh, it's like a speakeasy! So cool! We were kinda weirded out by the doorbell and almost didn't go because that was so unusual, but we are so glad we did. Margarita was our server and she was such a doll. I had the wildest...More

Went for post dinner drinks with my nephews who in their 20s would have possibly preferred to hit a louder nightspot! However, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience... we had a ten minute wait post ringing the door bell. The service was great, the drinks menu...More

Every time we get to Amsterdam we go here and they have never disappointed us with the quality and service! We showed it to several friends and travellers and they loved it aswell. Very, very good spot for a drink.

So on the plus side, the cocktails that we drank were very nice, the cocktails that were seeping into the denim on my lap, not so much. It all started quite well. We ladies were allowed in by the waiter whose stiff, clumsy attempts at...More

When we were last in Amsterdam we stayed on the same street as Bar Oldenhof but for some reason didn't make it in until our last night in town. We're really glad we did. Great ambiance and friendly, knowledgeable staff. Stop in for a drink!

I had a gin & tonic here one evening, and enjoyed my visit very much. The bar staff were very friendly and attentive, and my G&T was truly excellent, one of the best I've ever had. I did learn, though, that the Dutch make G&T's...More

We showed up and rang the bell. They were very polite but basically told us they were full and suggested trying again in an hour. So we had a whiskey at another bar nearby and came back. They were happy to see us when we...More

Walking past this rather decent place you wouldn’t notice what it hides behind its black curtains. We rang the doorbell and were welcomed by a very nice and mysterious servant who told us to come in. We absolutely had no idea what would await us:...More

One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and
some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two
of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll
through this especially convivial warren of narrow
streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and
quality galleries. Historically a haven for the
working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is
better known as an enclave for artists and designers.
