Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.

A really unpleasant moment in a place that could be nice though!
The servers are hateful and even aggressive! The service is terribly slow and the icing on the cake is that after placing our order and waiting 45 minutes, we are finally told that we will not be served because there are not enough dishes! We are asked to change our order, in the end, we will not eat! But we will be asked to pay! Mind-blowing!

De Prael has a kind of favor factor, hence three stars instead of 2 or even 1. I don't want to talk bad about a company that is so socially committed, but today our experience was unfortunately really less than other times. I think there was a real staff shortage: dirty tables that were not cleared, a very long wait for service at the table, cold fries (left out too long, or something), beer had run out without the waiter knowing, very warm inside, you name it. on. Normally we think this is a wonderful place to discover new beers, but I think we just came at a bad time. We'll try again at another time.

Well the beer's expensive (Amsterdam?) but very nice, staff are "characterful", food's good and not overpriced for the location.
They brew on-site.
You won't stumble across it even though it's very central.
Worth a try, anyway.

A two tier place, with most seating upstairs. Tiled walls and wooden walls throughout. Around 10 beers on tap brewed by their own brewery. Some beers are better than other so I always ask for a taste before plunging for a glass, and they are happy to oblige.

Had a really lovely meal here, I had the Bratwurst ànd my husband had the Burger with a Beer, which he really enjoyed. The food was great and my husband really enjoyed the beers that he tried. The service was great and we even bought a box of beers to take home with us. It's down a side road, so can be easily missed but it's definitely worth a visit when in the city.

I recommend to try the beer sample which brings 4 different kinds of beer for 10 € and the food sampler as well, which includes bitterballen and two other dishes. Our waiter could not speak English or Spanish so the communication was a little complicated but other than that the place was fine.

good and relaxing ambience.

there's additional seating in the lower floor.

it's a pity they don't serve their ales in British pint or 500 ml but with 330 ml only.

great nachos with pulled pork from their bar food menu.

well recommended.

My wife and I stopped in the Brouwerij de Prael on our visit to Amsterdam. We were in the city for 3 days and decided to go here for dinner on our last night here, partly due to the trip advisor reviews and partly because we are beer lovers. We arrived early enough (6:30) to get a table and ordered a wheat and an IPA for starters. We then ordered an appetizer before dinner. Neither one of us was impressed with our beers and we were so unimpressed with the appetizer as well that we decided to cash out after one round of beers and an appetizer. If you want good local craft beer, you are much better off going to Arendsnest Beer Bar. If you want a good burger at a place that has some local beer, try Burger Fabriek. Its not far from Brouwerij De Prael.

This brewery is located in the central area of Amsterdam, very easy to find. The beer itself is very good, but not amazing, specially if you went by Belgium first. Their service, on the other hand, is impeacable, despite the bad english. Worth a shot eitherway.

Fabulous place recommended to us by our excellent red light tour guide. Worth seeking out for its great vibe, friendly staff and last but not least it's fine own brew.
