If you are into rock-punk music that's probably the best place you can go in Amsterdam for an early or late drink. Crowded but not touristic.

I stumbled across this place almost accidentally back in 2008. Since then, it has been my favorite bar in Amsterdam (by far). There used to be similarly cool place nearby, namely the Korsakoff club. Unfortunately that one has closed. Sound Garden is still there. What...More

Good selection of beers, great terrace area at the back over looking the canal and interesting clientele. A superb bar to spend the evening chilling out with friends. But not a good stag do venue! Stay away!

Went here from a recommendation from a local person. It was really quiet, which is what I needed at that time of the day. It's right by the canal so it was really relaxing watching people go by on their boats while I had a...More

A classic place that changed a bit lately and has lost the magic or let's say that once Korsakof closed Sound Garden was lost.

Good music, nice bear, nice atmosphere. The place has a pinball machine, pool table, foosball table and an arcade machine (payment required to play all of them). Also, there is a canal facing terrace (which was fully occupied when we got there). You can enjoy...More

Great bar with outdoor seating as well. Also had a pool table and pin ball machines. Had a blast and it was a great alternative to some of the typical touristy places.

Really positive atmosphere stemming from the really friendly bar staff and continuing into the regulars who weren't the type to frown upon tourists. Amazing view from the seats outside and with the good prices a great session can be had!

One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and
some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two
of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll
through this especially convivial warren of narrow
streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and
quality galleries. Historically a haven for the
working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is
better known as an enclave for artists and designers.
