Came across this fine place more or less by accident. But out of nowhere we came across this curious and relaxed place in the middle of the Amsterdam hubbub. A test room for different Jenevers and other liqueurs, in a 1618-property, A place to sit...More

My younger brother (18), and I (much older, haha) stumbled upon this place just looking for a few beers, were immediately welcomed by the lovely girl behind the bar and made to feel at home. Wanted to try some quality jenevers whilst in Dam this...More

Very disturbing. Came for a visit, ordered a drink and began to visit with others, was almost immediately met with unwelcoming comments from proprietors I will not be ordering anther drink. I recommend you go to Cafe Karperschoek, much nicer operators.

We found the place by mistake, roaming around the old city. It attracted me immediately for its old-style looking building. Once inside, you are embraced by soft colours and warm environment. People chatting, low music volume and candle lights on the few present tables. The...More

Went here on a recommendation and was so glad we did! The bar is really cosy and very dutch inside, the landlady recommended some Jenever based on what we liked - and was spot on! Definitely worth a visit.

Very unique, lovely bar! So lovely we went back twice. Always a good time to be had here. One of my favourite bars, I highly recommend.

I was with a bunch of colleagues and we came cross this place. The Atmosphere was fantastic and the landlady was very charming and extremely knowledgeable of her products. I would highly recommend this place to anyone that wants a quiet yet astounding drink.

This 17th Century building (actually the cellar is apparently 14th century) houses a truly unique bar. Specialising in Jenever (sort of Dutch gin) and home distilled liqueurs, it's steeped in history as well as spirits! It also offers excellent beers. Most of the window glass...More

The Dutch don't have gin, they have ginevre and this bar specialises in it. It is a lovely old bar with lots of history and atmosphere and they make some of the ginevres in the basement. The lady behind the bar was very friendly and...More

We stumbled in here for a drink and as soon as we walked in we were greeted by the bartender. It felt like we were a whole world away from the loud bustling of the outside red light district. Full of history, culture and genuine...More

To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the
