I love Albert Cuyp Market and when ever I have gone to Amsterdam I have always found something to buy. There are clothing, bedding, kitchenalia, accesory, pet stalls.Best of all are the many food stalls, which include: fresh fish, fruit, vegtables, sweets, cakes, hot food and more. There are also shops on either side of the stalls. If you walk to one the end of the... We walked down to the Markt in late morning on a Friday and were pleasantly surprised by the variety of items for sale and to eat. It is a delightful mixture of a flea market, retail shops, take-away food products and gift shops for those special items to take home with you. Definitely a good place to try a stroopwaffel... We unfortunately got terrible weather while in Amsterdam, and still attempted the outdoor flea market in the cold. There are a variety of stalls selling food, touristy knickknacks, clothing, jewelry, beauty items, and much more. The stalls stretch over quite a few streets, with many stalls boasting only a sampling of the main stores behind the tents. Overall, there was... More

This market is fantastic. Not only does it offer all sorts of fare, clothes, jewellery, shoes, ornaments, bedclothes, hosiery, hats, souvenirs but also fresh food and drinks. There are also a vast array of shops to interest you behind each row of stalls. Prices are very competitive. You take the number 24 tram from Amsterdam Centraal and the journey only... More

Perhaps we were just unlucky however when we went to the market but there did not seem to be much there! Having read quite a lot about this market, I had been looking forward to going but very few stalls caught our eye. The highlight was the fresh stroopwaffle stall where the guy was Amazing and did make the long... More

This is the largest city market in Amsterdam composed of over a mile of street stalls. There are stalls with everything from tourist souvenirs, to fresh fish, cheese, fruit and vegetables, to tables of underwear and socks. It seems to be frequented most by locals and is great for people watching. There is also a collection of small ethnic restaurants... More

363/5000 It is a colorful market packed with friendly stands and merchants. You can find a variety of goods at the lowest prices in the city. Among the products you can find fish, poultry, cheese, fruits, vegetables, clothing, footwear, wigs, cosmetics, electronics, bags and more. Trading in the market began in 1904. Today, the owners describe it as "the most... More

We headed here this morning, it was about a half hour walk from where was staying but had seen and heard a lot of people talk about it, it is a varied market and to be honest we mainly went to sample the food stalls, there is a lot of tacky stools with clothes, souvenirs etc. And then a nice... Staying in De Pijp

Neighbourhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
