Great and a few mins walk from the centre

Lovely area and canal, near the hustle and bustle of the Damrak but quiet enough if you want a nice area to relax and enjoy a wander.

Singel is Amsterdam's original canal and it is quite beautiful to walk along with lots of bars, restaurants and the flower market which is lovely to see.

We were fortunate enough to be staying on Singel and it's beautiful. Brilliant to just take five minutes to chill out and look at the Canal and also great for pictures with all the bikes chained on to the railings.

Took a lot of pictures in the many bridges crossing the Singel canal. You will love it too. It was our mandatory route in our way back to the hotel and we enjoyed the views every time!

The Singel canal was originally a moat that surrounded the city in the middle ages. It takes about 2-3 hours to walk the entire canal and it has great restaurants and shops along the canal. Be sure to try Greenwoods located near the top of the Canal (West-side) near central station.

Good for a walk, and get very beautiful and picturesquely photos. You´ll love to spend some time in a place like that. Very Amsterdam thing.

Another strange place to review, it is just a short piece of street were you do find all the boats selling flower bulbs. You can not miss it since it is in the middle of the city centre at the "Munt" and accessed by miscell ways of public transport. If you like flowers, have a visit, it does not take... More

stayed along the canal during our summer holiday, close to everything yet out of the fray of the busiest parts and noise

We stayed in the area for 5 days and found it good for walking to most of the city's attractions. Plenty of bars and shops close by.

Staying in Centrum

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
