Nice way to see the city

Nice way to relax a bit and see the city from a different view than one normally sees. Interesting to see how people have adapted to living on or near the water

Strolling Sunday mornings before the crowds get there along the tree line canal is always a joy. Great facades , smaller and bigger houses, many still lived in by Amsterdammers. Do go in to Museum van Loon and get a glimpse how a well to do family lived at the turn of the nineteenth century.

This is such a beautiful canal, especially during the weekend, when the boats come sailing by. It is also wonderful to watch the sunset here and to enjoy a casual boat ride..

Our November boat tour was just as good but obviously colder than in July when we last visited. It was good sitting in the boat in a far less crowded canal, listening to the commentary. In fact in some respect, it was better as we were able to stop many more times and take more photographs.

multiple canals in Amsterdam provide many opportunities for stunning views as you walk the streets and bridges finding you way throughout the city. Many fine restaurants, shops and attractions accessed by walking over these bridges but beware of bicycles as Amsterdam taking biking to a level like I have never seen before. Look both ways before crossing streets as the... More

I think the best part of Amsterdam is just wandering the canals. The city is absolutely gorgeous and it's fun to explore and get lost amongst the canals.

Enjoyed the tour and the guide points out places of interest. The boat is covered which helps when it's wet and cold. Have been on better trips.

It's just impossible to say you've seen Amsterdam, unless you've done a canal cruise. The perspective is completely different and you get to see things otherwise not available to the walker or car/bike/bus rider. When given lemons, you should make lemonade. the Dutch were given low laying, flood prone "swamp" and they definitely made the absolute best out of it.... More
