The Amsterdams Kaashuis is the largest shop owned by Henri Willig in Amsterdam. Our shop staff will welcome you in traditional Dutch costumes for a cheese-making demonstration. In addition to the world-renowned Edam and Gouda cheese, Henri Willig also makes sheep and goat cheese. Our cheeses are plain or are seasoned with cumin, pepper, fenugreek or chili peppers. You can sample these varieties yourself. The attractive shop sells a wide variety of Dutch treats and souvenirs.

There is much to do and see and the museums are amazing. However, there is trash in the streets and an overall feeling of dirty. The cyclists have the right of way and we were constantly screaming warnings of Bikes! The bike lanes are well maintained, but the sidewalks for pedestrians are uneven and dangerous. I will not be going back.

Very touristy but tons of samples and cheese was tasty. Cheese was pricey and you can buy this same cheese at airport. Cheese apparently doesn’t need to be refrigerated for a month so ok to bring home.

Traditionally dressed ladies present the whole procedure of cheese making, explaining the nutritional value and all products sold. They offer all varieties to taste before buying

I have visited the main Henri Willig dairy farm on previous visits to the Netherlands and have been impressed by how committed the family is to selling high quality products. They offer a wide variety of cheese flavors (the garlic and herb is my favorite, but I also like the new-ish beer flavor) as well as cheese accessories (cheese knives and graters) that make wonderful gifts. They ship to the US in case you don't have room in your luggage.

There was no non-alcoholic liquid to sell, as they had run out of water, I even asked for some water to drink from the employees' own consumption, as I was very thirsty, which was denied.

Taste lots of cheese and see the cows that make it. Tour was nice and explanation was educational. Took a few wheels home to the United States.

I love the concept of having different cheese flavours; with herbs, garlic, and thyme for example. There are many more cheese options too. They let you try samples and it is simply delicious. I didn’t see anyone not leaving the shop without purchasing any cheese.

Visit there by yourself, no need to buy any tickets or tours. Google the shop and it’s nearby.

We were supposed to have the tasting on Saturday (3rd of September). We arrived at 16:00 to the location mentioned on getyourguide.dk and it turned out it was a different location, so in rush we have called the place and we have apologised for being late, and asked for a few more minutes, since we simply got lost because of having 2 different locatons mentioned confirmed. We had 400m left to walk, so we could have made it. Yet, we were told on the phone that they start now, and we got no chance to join them. We were offered nor refund or chance for getting a voucher to purchase cheese and wine in their store, since we were supposed to fly back home to Copenhagen the next day. As our flight got cancelled on Sunday, we called them again and we were again met with a bad customer experience. The conversation did not bring any benefit for us, since we got no refund, no voucher or chance for attending the next tasting.

My friends and I booked & prepaid for the experience. When we arrived near the location, we couldn't find the place, so we called the staff. The employee that picked up the phone said that it is our problem if we have trouble finding the place and we shouldn't show up as we were already 2 minutes late. He said, he will start without us, and there is no way to get a refund or a voucher if we miss out. The tone of the employee was rude, and he clearly did not want to help us. He did not look for solutions and seemed annoyed that we dared to ask for help. We were very disappointed with the service, all we needed was a little bit of help. Very sad if this person was the one guiding the experience - he did not seem like someone who can or wanted to work with or for people. For the customer care and service - one star, but if zero existed, that would be the one :)
