Live band was so and so, not a jazz band, more like a college garage band (2/5 rate). Bartender was excellent ( I would rate his service 5/5). The place was big enough, but decoration seemed a little off. Overall rating 3/5

Visiting Amsterdam for a few days, I was delighted to discover this bar which plays live blues music, which I really like. I arrived 15 minutes after opening time (opening at 10pm), a rather large and particularly unpleasant bald employee kicked me out and told me I had to pay 5 euros even though there was no one from the staff charging admission.
Incomprehensible and rude, I wouldn't have minded paying 5 euros at all, on the contrary, to listen to good live music, but given the way I was treated, i decided to go elsewhere since respect for customers doesn't seem to be a priority for this establishment.
I'm sorry for the musicians who don't deserve this and the other employees who have to put up with this colleague, I really hope it wasn't the boss...

Worst doormen/bouncers me and my friend have ever come across and we've been out a lot in our time! Get to the front of the queue after waiting a while and we were both just casually chatting about needing the loo and for some reason the guy told us to go away. We thought he was joking and next thing we know we are getting physically pushed away. Such a bizarre situation.

We were planning on just popping in, checking it out for a bit and then going to another bar. However we found ourselves staying in our seat (periodically getting up to dance) untill 2 or 3 in the morning.
The place has a nice and chilled atmosphere, drinks are a good price! but the band that were playing all night were on another level, they mannaged to keep us interested for the whole night, covering a diverse amount of material that you never got bored!
I'll definately be making a visit here next time i'm up in holland!

Love this bar with all my heart have been coming here for years. I am a local bartender that visits quite often after my shift has ended tonight myself and my friends who also work in the local bars where treated like dirt by one of the new door men I am completely astonishing by the way this man treated me and my friends complete lack of respect for people that spend a lot of money in this bar. The man was egotistical had a complete power trip and took my picture without my permission. I spoke to the manager over the phone and got absolutely nothing not even an apology normally I would say visit this bar I even tell my customers to visit but after this visit avoid the place until they do something about this door man and this is not the first instance of trouble with this guy this is the second. So I hope the management read this and understand just how much money and custom this man is preventing them from getting. He is a bald guy I would say mid forty’s with a serous attitude problem all the other doormen I tip without hesitation as they are perfect gentlemen and I will be visiting the management to discuss this further.

If you are looking for a fun night in Amsterdam with awesome live music then this is the place to be. Although the place is relatively small, it has a cozy feel to it. The music is really nice with all the lively performers and the stage is right in front of the bar. Something really different from the typical bars. I really love the fact that this place encourages local talent and originality in terms of music. Totally worth a visit if you are in Amsterdam.

Night started off fine, but was soured by the rudeness of the bartender.
We were seated by the bar and had ordered our first round of drinks and asked for a couple waters on the side. When someone in our party ordered his second drink and asked for another water, the bartender insisted that everyone in our party order another drink first before giving us any additional water stating that he can't give out free water all night. It wasn't as if we were free loading on water, and the manner in which the bartender asked wasn't very nice. We left soon after.

It's a really small venue, which is fine. I got there early to get a spot at the bar. The server was friendly and prompt.
Within moments a group of attractive young ladies came in and filled the seats at the bar. I was having a drink at the bar and wanted to catch up on some emails and texts before the band came on.
The doorman suddenly came to the bar and began banging a glass repeatedly, seeming to get the bartenders attention.
I took the hint and left. I guess that's how business works in this area. I won't go back.
