Boom Chicago creates smart and funny comedy shows at our theater on the Rozengracht in Amsterdam. This summer, we also host LIMBO, a fantastic sexy, music-driven circus from Australia. A Boom Chicago comedy show is a fast-paced mix of sharp writing, quick improvisation, video and music. You and your friends enjoy the show from a table with buckets of beer and bottles of wine. Over the last 25 years, more than a million people have seen us live and millions more enjoyed our Comedy Central TV show and viral videos. We have a great venue and are leaders in events and communication. Boom Chicago develops programs for companies and brands to facilitate change, innovation and creativity with humor. Many famous comedians got their start at Boom Chicago including Seth Meyers, Jordan Peele (Get Out, Key and Peele), Ike Barinholtz (Suicide Squad, Mindy Project, Neighbors), Jason Sudeikis (Horrible Bosses, We're the Millers) and Colton Dunn (Superstore). Boom alumni write for shows and movies like Late Night with Seth Meyers, Saturday Night Live, Key and Peele, The Daily Show, Colbert Report, Borderline, 30 Rock, Modern Family, Girls, Mindy Project, Pitch Perfect and Breaking Bad.

My family and I used to go to boom chicago religiously, every show was hilarious and original. 5 years on, I a new theatre, the Boom crew seem tired. Nothing fresh, everything seemed sad and a little wilted. The players were unenthusiastic, and the scripted...More

Hi ScubaMonkeyAlex. Thank you for the review and feedback! You've seen Facetime Your Fears which is our partly improvised show, with some written scenes. If you want to experience the real (improv) thing, I recommend coming to Shot of Improv or Sunday Night Live. Those...More

My family of 4, kids ages 17-20, went to Merry Christmas Improv on Christmas night at Boom Chicago (the performances are all in English). I haven't always been the biggest improv fan, but it was hilarious. The whole cast of 4 was great, but the...More

I have seen two of Boom Chicago's shows. The first one was at a private event and the second was an impro at their theater. Both of them were hilarious. Def worth a try to fix a weekend.

This was my first time at Boom Chicago, attended the Funny Shop night. Had a great time seeing 9 performers over the stand up open mic, with a great audience in a small but cozy room.

This is what I have sent to Boom Chicago tonight: Hi there, I was at your show tonight and what was supposed to be a lovely evening turned to be a sad event. I have even refused to shake the hand of the German host...More

Dear Jonathan, First of don't lash out at the wrong people. I would be more sympathetic if you wrote me in private, but you chose to air this in public and your lazy and misplaced one star review will remain long after you read this...More

I was really excited to go there. Boy was I disappointed... The food was seriously some of the worst I've ever had. They're not a restaurant and really shouldn't try to be. The meat smelled really bad and the one that tried it didn't like...More

Boom Chicago has a range of different improv comedy shows with a full calendar available on their website. We saw the Sunday Night Live and Face Your Fears shows. Sunday was a cooler more intimate show in the small theater upstairs. The group took a...More

I love improvised comedy and have been fortunate to see different groups in the UK. However, BOOM Chicago manages to make the sketches relevant and current, without seeming ridiculous. The five performers were genuinely having a great time, which makes it an infectious experience for...More

A fantastic show - but you've missed it in Amsterdam. Catch it elsewhere if you can. Intense acrobatics, at close range, done with a knowing twinkle. As for Boom Chicago - it's a great venue, with some tip top craft beers.

One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and
some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two
of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll
through this especially convivial warren of narrow
streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and
quality galleries. Historically a haven for the
working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is
better known as an enclave for artists and designers.
