Went here as one of the last things we did in Amsterdam before we all travelled back to our respective countries - we had lunch on one of the park benches a short walk away from the metal dome installation (whilst also having to shield our Albert Heijn lunches from some very large birds hissing around us) and then slowly wandered around the park for a bit before making our way back to the entrance. Absolutely wonderful experience, and a lovely change of pace from everything going on in the city itself.

This is one of the best parks in Amsterdam, has a great variety of gardens, a big fountain, a lot of paths to discover, a cafe and is most of the time very quiet. Please check their agenda for festivals or events, then it’s a complete another atmosphere which I don't recommend if you like a peaceful space.

Vondelpark is highly overrated. If you really want to visit a quiet natural beautiful park, Amstelpark is the best... Dont forget to visit the Windmill nearby and Remrandts statue too beside the Amstel river..

No doubt that amstelpark is a niceplace to visit with your kids as there is a midget golf, petting zoo, play ground, a maze, a small train driving around the park and quite a big place to run around. But if you like artwork, this park has a lot of things to offer such as the entrances' doors ( most of them are artwork ) and more artwork are scattered in the entire park. There is also a monument "Rozenoord", a memorial monument in memory of those who were executed by the German Occupiers during the final month of the Second World War in Rozenoord, near Amstel river. "Het Glazen Huis", "Orangerie" and "Rietveldpaviljoen" are exposition spaces ( Zone2Source ) that has exposition every moment. Also a nice grand piano in the middle of the park that once in a while is used for a free concert or you can play on it

It's a nice place to visit with the family, mainly if you have children. There is a nice playground there, and a couple of restaurants where you can eat pancakes and other snacks.

I’ve been with my family and we enjoyed so much. There is a couple of small farms when you can see some animals like cangaroos and cows and a lot of play areas. The only thing is you can’t ride your bike inside so if your kids don’t walk jet be prepared!

Originally created in 1972 for the “Floriade exhibition” an open air agricultural exhibition with rides an attractions, animals is now a beautiful park with an nice playground for young children with a small farm and an original mini train build by Porsche making a tour around the park, it’s said that’s the only one in the world. Beautiful with the great variety of trees and plants and a nice place to gave a picnic or enjoy the excellent restaurant at the main entrance.

We have stayed several times at the nearby Holiday Inn and suggest hiring a bike from the hotel and heading into the park. While you cannot ride your bike in the park once beside the river there's a cycleway to explore the countryside away from the busy city traffic. While in the park a maze not far from the children's train station is a bit of fun to find your way out of and not far from the river the park has a baby grand piano protected under shelter available for anyone to play with musical experience which is quite novel. A small ferry nearby also operates at certain times taking passengers across the river for a small fee and this gives you the opportunity to explore country life close to the city. Keep in mind what time the ferry finishes operating on the day you visit though to avoid a lengthy ride to get back.

This is a beautiful, clean, safe park. Lots of different gardens and in springtime everything blooms, it's just gorgeous. Easy to reach by public transport. There is also a kiddies farm and some more animals here and there (wallaby, lama). Also good fun is the mini golf place where you can eat pancakes as well. There are several places to have a nice lunch. A lovely lake with loads of ducks. If you want to refresh in a quiet lovely environment you should go here!
