This is well worth a visit, to see both the impressive designs inside, but also to get to learn more about both Amsterdam and Dutch history. Compared to other Royal Palaces of Europe it is quite different, as it was originally built as the city's...More

A must see! It is the most beautiful building inside and out. The architecture is phenomenal, a real work of art and the story behind everything adds to it. I highly recommend the audio guide but does get a bit repetitive in the different chambers...More

This was a big surprise to us. The Royal Palace is not your usual palace, but rather a people's hall with amazing treasures at every turn. The audio tour, which comes with the very reasonable admission fee, works very well. You will not be disappointed!

Someone suggested taking this tour and since it was right in Dam’s square we thought it would be nice. The tour itself was great because although it’s self directed, they sync the audio where you can hear more detail of the room, or you could...More

While the Dutch Royal Palace may not be comparable in grandeur to some other European royal palaces, it does include some remarkable statuary and—thanks to Louis Napoleon-- the largest French Empire furniture collection outside of France. The Citizens’ Hall in particular is a beautiful space...More

This was my first visit to any royal palace and I expected something different, much older interior, but it was magnificent, tottally worth of visiting. Rooms and paintings are extraordinary beautiful. The tour about history of palace is great too.

We almost passed on the palace as its not much to look at from the outside, but the interior is wonderful with a lot of very interesting history. The audio guided tour gives options to listen to points of interest in more detail. The palace...More

Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of
tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists
and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the
best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe.
Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops
of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones
Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods
such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring

It is up to you, you can explore in your own pace. The recording is little over one hour. Between 1 - 1.5 h should be sufficient. You have only one floor to explore and you can not enter many of the rooms.
