We took the Blue Boat canal tour, which was a real treat. The audiotape is a bit corny, but it's educational. This tour shows off the city from a view unavailable on foot.

We pre-booked this cruise for Tuesday, July 11, at 8:15 PM. The overall experience was OK. They seated you at shared tables for 4 on the boat. You ordered your pizza and ice cream flavor as you got on the boat. There was plenty of...More

We enjoyed our canal cruise and learned quite a bit of Amsterdam's cultural history. The boat was comfortable, with toilets, sun and shade, and commentary in 3 languages (Dutch, German, English).

Not one ill rush back to do! Very informative but after the first 15 mins it really did begin to drone on a bit and I think we tuned out and started to look at the lights more than the attractions

Almost like a Grayline tour, but by canal instead of bus (which would be impossible in Amsterdam).....guide on boat told us all about the town, sights we were seeing, etc. Tour took about an hour and we went down various canals, on the Amstel, and...More

Best way to get an overview of Amsterdam. Check out most of Amsterdam and then let your feet do the walking. Shop around we got our cruise for 10 euro. The smaller motor boats looked cool also.

It was a pleasant way to see a different side of Amsterdam and hear about the architecture and history.

To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the
Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its
saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to
view some of the city’s most picturesque canals,
historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples
of traditional local architecture – not to mention
Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist
temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some

I'm sorry but the four of us just made up our minds at the last minute and walked from the Van Gogh museum to a canal and took a cruise. Can't recall the canal line. No waiting involved. Just a leisurely easy sit back and... More
