Neighbourhood: Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.

    Please try harder.
We only saw 2 cats. There is so much potential here, but it isn’t being well-utilized. One cat was a little friendly and the other was clearly not interested. A few orange tabbies and this place could be booming with happy cat-loving customers. We miss our home cats and this did not give us an opportunity to love on the local cats.

    Such a sweet little museum!
The kattenkabinet is such a cute little place with some really cool cat pieces that make you smile! It’s only very small but is packed with amazing things and beautiful architecture, the two cats that we saw were extremely friendly and so sweet to have a little cuddle with! Would highly recommend if you have a spare half an hour, love cats, and want to do something that is out of the usual tourist traps :)

    Some real cats too!
Lots of art and artefacts for cat lovers and there were even 3 real life cats I spotted during the visit- though you are warned to pet the cats at your own risk! The garden was open and it was a nice place to sit in the fresh air and look at some vintage cat based advertising posters from all over Europe. The visit won’t take long, but if you like cats it’s definitely worth the trip. There is also a shop with numerous cat postcards and artworks.

    For cat lovers
I love cats, if you love cats then this is a fun place to visit. If you are lucky you might also see and meet one of the cats that live there. Clearly run by cat lovers, the furniture, posters, pictures and decor are every dog lover and cat hater's nightmare. My visit lasted about 30 minutes, but I did leave smiling.

    Cute but overpriced
Definitely one for cat lovers! This museum is full of cat paintings, statues and many other forms of cat memorabilia. There are also a few live feline friends running around who are absolutely adorable. The staff are friendly and polite. Unfortunately the experience is overpriced at €10 per person. We were in and out within about 25 minutes. Compared with some of the other museums, this doesn't represent great value for money. All bags are removed from you at the door and there are no lockers, they are simply looked after by the staff.

Cute Cat Museum with 2 kitties
Cute little museum with a bunch of cat memorabilia and paintings throughout the years. The back garden isn't open in the winter which was the only bad thing for us! This place has two kitties sleeping around, very good ☺️

If You Love Cats, This is For You
Quirky, off-beat, run by cat lovers. If you love cats, you'll love this place. If you don't, you'll feel you have wasted your 10 euros entrance fee. If it's for you, this is a good place to spend an hour. Located in an old mansion house, on several floors and with a back garden (open in early March), Katten Kabinet is a labour of love for all things cat. Lots of pictures, many featured cat themed advertisements going back to the late nineteenth century. Cat themed furniture, cat themed antiques, cat themed ornaments, cat themed items to buy (many being posters or cards of the advertisements), you get the gist. It's also home to a couple of cats; if you're lucky you may see one (totally ignoring all things human, it's nothing personal). Well, we liked it.

This is a great, quirky place to visit. We got to see two of the house cats and love all of the memorabilia and artwork in the house. It doesn't take too long to visit but worth it just to see the cats.

It's a small museum but very cute nonetheless. Quite a big variation when it comes to cat themed art pieces. And of course there are a couple cats roaming around which is super fun 🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛

The door was locked today 11:00 am. Saw a sign stating they open 12:00 pm.
I returned 1:30 pm. - door still locked. Website states it opens 10:00am.
Not impressed & not returning.

Basically a two storey house of cats photos, posters and cats ornaments! Didn't see any real cats just a litter box and some chickens in the garden! 10mins in and out for €10. Not worth!!

This is a great little museum of all things cats. Lots of art and photography, including a Picasso. And there are a few cats wandering around.

Very much enjoyed this museum. It's very small and super cute, you can do it within 30-45 mins comfortably. They also have actual cats there, the highlight was being able to pet them! The staff were very nice and helpful - they gave us treats to feed the cats!

Well worth a visit if you love cats.
