Admitting to being interested in Cinema Architecture this place was on our itinerary and it did not disappoint , it is an amazing cinema with art nouveau and Art deco . This was a Jewel with great design and art work round every corner . We had the audio guide which was excellent. If you have an interest in art... More

For those who still remember what a "real" theatre is like with curtains, balconies, and beautiful art deco/art nouveau decor, this is an incredible treat.

Watch a movie or get a tour of this old theater. They had current movies and a decent selection of snacks/beer but what makes it great is the history behind the building. Do a quick read of the structural history and mix of styles inside to fully appreciate the building, or just take a tour. Not a top 10 for... More

This is theater an absolute classic art deco gem and it is very comfortable as well. The main hall is the masterpiece and you should definitly try getting tickets to one of the blockbuster movies that show here. The interior decoration is reason enough to get a movie ticket. Make sure you have lots of time before the movie to... More

While the scantily dressed nymph Callisto is lost in thought, she fails to notice that Jupiter, the lovesick ruler of the gods, is watching her. I did not know whether I was going to be able to get out of bed this morning. You see, last night I was visited by a supernatural seductress who was after my soul, or... More

This place is a work of art. The rooms are gorgeous and full of character. When I go to see a film in the biggest room, I always go a little bit earlier just to look around. It's the most beautiful cinema room in the Netherlands (perhaps in Europe). When visiting Amsterdam, I can highly recommend going here.

Our last day in Amsterdam came at the end of a three week European holiday and we were starting to feel pretty exhausted from all the walking & sightseeing. So when we walked past this amazing building and noticed it was a cinema playing a few recent movies we'd meaning to check out, we went inside. The inside is somehow... More

This is one of the most beautiful buildings in Amsterdam and you can just go there and see a film. If you think you might like the film in the "grote zaal" make yourself happy and go for it, be in time so you have lots of time to see the room you are in. Do not forget to use... More

When I travel to old European cities, I always look for a well preserved period movie house. Seriously. I have not been let down yet and the Tuschinski tops them all. It's a cheap way to enjoy some beautiful architecture for a few hours, and in the case of this theater, see a movie and drink beer from a glass.... More

Saw a poster for a movie we wanted to see outside the building, it was a cold so we went in. Wow! Didnt know the cinema would look so amazing on the inside. The staff told us that you can go on an arranged tour, which would be worth doing if you have the time.
