A museum full of great Van Gogh art that is curated in an excellent way, which makes it easy for the visitor to understand the personality and evolution of this artist through time. Interactive media/audio guides and modern approach are a plus.

Brilliant museum and would definitely recommend using an audio listener. I’m not even art but you don’t have to enjoy this museum. Only went in as was forced by friends but glad I went in

Walking distance from most of the touristy places - famous for its historical significance. They even had this on Amazing Race and it created a curiosity. Recommend a walk through the museum.

World-class museum with exception Impressionist European art. Lots to see, give yourself plenty of time to see the exhibits.

Absolutely stunning work of art. I am not very much into museums but Van Gogh's paintings got my eyes locked into their very details. You cannot get an inch closer though to "The Sunflower" :p

In my view one of the best museums in Amsterdam. It has an oustanding collection of Van Gogh and many of his friends and influences. It is presented in a way you can learn and understand Van Gogh's life and work.

We went on a Wed. in November there was no lines and we were able to get right in and see everything up close. It was an amazing experience and I would totally recommend it.

My favourite is the potato eaters from his peasant phase. Something to be aware of is the audio tour is not easy to follow and most of the pictures are not referenced on the guide

Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part
of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh
Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed
museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you
need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the
Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark,
the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand
connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping

It really depends on how much information you want to have about each painting. My advice is hear the intro and then move on. IMHO there's only one floor that'll take your time, but you shouldn't have to spend more than... More

I am not sure about not getting in at all. I recommend buying timed ticket in advance even 1 week for sure. You by pass any queue of any sort. Also, the queue is outside so October may be cold and wet. The Van Gogh museum... More
