Flea market- well almost!

This is an amazing place with a lot of things just lying around and they are inexpensive..some stuff literally is out of the world. Loved walking around!

Has loads of things including flowers and souvenirs. Beautiful place and great to walk through. Has some nice cafe's opposite which are good too.

We spent an hour wondering around this open air market. Lots of jumble type stalls but also a few "hidden treasures" in there as well. There is also a few food stalls if you are hungry / thirsty. Certainly worth a look if you are in the area and its not raining

Just a flea market, didn't really understood why it is so hyped out for tourists and locals. You'll find here souvenirs same as other places in Amsterdam, sometimes more expensive. Not really worth visiting here especially in case you are staying here just two days.

I was expecting more than this market, is really simple with more boxes of artisan stuff, clothes an etc, dont remember to saw any boxes of food or something similar. Its located in Waterlooplein, Centrum, close to metro station.

Didn't intend to visit this market but stumbled onto it. It is very big and there are lots of stalls. Some of the stalls just had large piles of clothes that had been dumped on the floor making it hard to look through.

We walked a long time to get to the market. It is not a flea market it is a regular market with clothes, juices, and most things you are not interested in as a tourist.

The market is easy to get to and not too big, but definitely not small. You can find a lot of treasures here for a cheap price.

Excellent for used vintage jeans, Levi etc. Also a nice canal walk. This is part of the former Jewish Quarter and was in fact thier market in Victorian times.

More a vintage market than a antique place, it is located nicely by the river. You have to go in the morning to beat the crowds but the merchandise are hit or miss.

Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighbourhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
