The view from the outside is very nice especially after a massive renovation. The building is very beautiful and impressive. Of course everyone loves the 'night watch' piece. The copies of laminated information cards in every exhibits are really helpful to understand each piece of...More

We spent about 6 hours touring this museum. It is truly amazing! This is a must see if you visit Amsterdam. The collections include no only world-class artwork, but also furniture, models and many other priceless artifacts. It is a great history lesson.

I had read quite a lot of good reviews about this place but what I can say is this place is a little bit over rated compare to other museums I visited.

This is a perfect place to spend a whole day as a tourist. Wide, spectacular and friendly. No need to book a guide, there are nice audioguides and a good app for ios and Android. Packed lunch can be eaten at a special indoor picknickplace!

I've spent more or less 4 hours in the Rijksmuseum ( ok, I also went to the cafe but I didn't stay there for long). To see a Rembrandt's masterpiece Nachtwacht is truly unique experience.

Get a timed ticket in advance and avoid the queues. Use a locker to avoid cloakroom queues. Be patient; it will be busy. Excellent cultural venue.

Loved it! I'm no art buff but there are so many interesting and familiar paintings here you can't help but be impressed.

Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part
of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh
Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed
museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you
need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the
Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark,
the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand
connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping
