You book their attraction pass along with your stay because it states unlimited access for a wide array of attractions including their safari park.
Then when you go for the car safari which falls under their unlimited access you don’t have to pay to get in but you have to pay to take your car back with you 5€ for an exit ticket, if you try to reason with them they state that you have free access because you are able to go in, and if you don’t want to pay for an exit ticket you can just go by foot.
Impossible to make them understand that when you are told you have unlimited access to something it is a safe assumption you will not have to pay for it.
Been for the last half an hour trying to find where it is written on the attraction pass that you have to pay to exit the park, have not found it yet.

We definitely loved our trip through the safari park. There is so much to discover and visit throughout and the amenities are good. We had fun going on the 'walk through the park' instead of taking a drive which was better for us.

Great thing to do when you are in The Netherlands

Just got back from two wonderful days staying at the Safari Resort at Beekse Bergen.

This attraction may not be familiar to a lot of British travellers. In our two days here, we met... well, absolutely none.

So it may be you have never heard of here if you are reading from the UK. And it may be that you are familiar with Longleat or West Midlands Safari park, and those are indeed wonderful, but Beekse Bergen frankly is just much, much better.

Yes, its a Safari Park. This may put you off if you don't fancy driving on the Continent, and being a Safari park, you may assume you need to drive ... but ....

You can walk around this one as well. They have laid out paths that take you through the park on a pedestrian friendly route. Animals which then would not be safe to encounter (that would be the lions) are then effectively behind glass. The lions still have the full roam of their environment, as the glass separates you from the animals and the car / bus route. If you are in a car, you would meet the lions as you would in Longleat.

There are some great enclosures too. My favourite was a long rope / cargo net bridge over the bear enclosure, from where I had the amazing experience of being up close with me on the bridge and Paddington (the bear) just watching me cross. I was looking down at him, and he was standing upright looking at me. Amazing. Super fun.

But the really best bit is the Safari Resort. Yes, you can if you want, do a day trip. But my goodness, do you miss out if you do that!

We spent two nights at the Masai Mara reserve section and started our stay with a private Jeep Safari driven by Sophie, who was so knowledgeable and friendly it was unreal. She took us right into the heart of the park to see the Giraffe and antelope up close without being stuck in a car. You can see from the photo how close we were to these beautiful animals.

At the end of the day exploring the park, it was back to the self catering lodge and a couple of cold beers, a glass of wine and some pizzas from the park restaurant. We sat outside our lodge with our refreshments until into the night, watching the sun set, the stars come out, the wine bottle empty and the animals come and go as they would on the African plains. It was some beautiful relaxing it was hard to stay awake!

I woke up the following morning to a Zebra making a real racket, oh and a Rhino going by .... stunning.

There is so much here that in two days, I don't think we came close to seeing it all. There is a shop onsite for your convenience, and the lodges are well provisioned to self cater (just don't perhaps expect to make a roast dinner!). Or you can walk to the bar and restaurant.

Take money in the form of a travel card. Debit or credit cards seem to be preferred.

I didn't know I was going. It was a surprise. Oh my goodness, what a surprise.

Would I recommend it to anyone who likes animals. Yes, very much so.

Do I want to go back. That's easy. That's a 100% yes, without reservation, yes, absolutely, yes.

This place is astonishing.

This is definitely a must visit with kids.
The place is big and all animals are walking freely and you can see them close.

With the auto-safari the animals could come close to your car 🚗 but can also be very far. So if they are sleeping far from the road you won’t see them. In our case was the lions 🦁 but we were able to see them close to the restaurant.

We had some rain 🌧 but with an umbrella ☔️ it was fine.

The boat 🛥 ride is nice and allows you to see some areas you didn’t see. Besides is quite pleasant. Plus there is a guide explaining about the park and animals.

The restaurant is good 😊 food is good also and toilets 🚽 are very clean.

The app with the map is quite handy so you know which direction to go every time.

This park has all the big and small “Safari” animals. They are kept in large open environments and not in small closed cages which agitates the animals. You can drive thru with your own car or a park ranger car or bigger bus. They offer a boating tour and walking trips. Lots of areas for children to play. Nice to have a addy or two, definitely worth the extra drive!

We stayed here in August 2018. The villas were brand new. 3 years later in July 2021 we decided to return. Unfortunately, the villa we stayed in was showing signs of wearing. That by itself would be OK. However, for €800 for 2 nights I had expected the villa to be spotlessly clean. It wasn’t. There was dust under the main bed - dust makes me cough a lot - so I didn’t sleep well. The floor was dirty throughout the villa. There was a helium ballon from a previous guest on the ceiling. The walls had marks from squatted flies. It was just very disappointing as we could only make the comparison to our spotless villa 3 years earlier. On a positive note, we stayed next to the safari so we could see the amazing animals strolling or running past our veranda. We went swimming and the pool area is very well maintained. We also ate in the restaurant and the food was tasty and price was very reasonable. We also had pizzas delivered and they were also tasty and price very reasonable. So, overall, we would like to return for a third trip. However, if the villa is not spotless next time then it won’t be a fourth trip.

Dear Joel, Thank you for your review! It is nice to read that it was a pleasant stay. It is a pity that you have had a bitter aftertaste from the cleaning of the accommodation. I hope this is well resolved during your stay. I hope the pool and the tasty pizzas made up for a lot! We hope to welcome you again soon at Beekse Bergen! - Team Beekse Bergen

—-This review is exclusively about the pop up tapas—restaurant.—-
This is our second time at Beekse Bergen and we love the park and accommodation.
However we had a very unpleasant surprise last evening.
We went to have dinner to the pop up tapas restaurant and it was a fixed menu. While the server explained how it worked, my husband pointed out we don’t eat meat very clearly from the beginning. The waitress said on the second “plank” there was some shrimp, but failed to mentioned it was ALL MEAT. She didn’t even say it and while the cold tapas had quite a few veg options the second board, warm tapas was all meat except for a few shrimp and a few potatoes. 4 all full on meat dishes. We were very shocked to see that and barely touch it, we gave some to our child but she rarely eats meat so she didn’t want any either. We waited on the table for a long time hoping the server would come to ask if things were ok or why we were not eating. It didn’t happen. After a long time we paid at the bar and my husband was upset but decided he didn’t want to ruin our short vacation by pointing out what he had already pointed out, that we don’t eat meat and we were not told that we were going to get an almost exclusively meat tray. If the server had been transparent from the beginning, we could have decided to leave and eat somewhere else, no big deal. But she wasn’t. At all. And we paid over €75 euros for a meal we couldn’t eat (not the second tray at least). Big big disappointment and we rarely leave a bad review. Especially at Beekse Bergen, a place we love.
Such a pity to start our only vacation of 3 days in 2 years on such a bad note.

Friendly staff host at the entrance, cute place. Shame about all the rest.

The park itself is great. We did the walking Safari, which took us 5 hours with four little children. Some of the homes of the animals look quite bare and outdated but they are spacious and that is very important. I really enjoyed the park this far.
However, it was far too crouded. No way you are able to Social distance anywhere on the narrow paths. This was a large disadvantage for me. I suppose letting half the amount of guests in at a time slot will improve this largely. I think they can and have to do better on this at the current time.
Compliments on the sanitary, they added temporary toilets now and they were all neat.
If Corona measures improve I will go back, if not only when I will be vaccinated.

Dear Mendie, Thank you for the nice review! Good to read that you enjoyed our park. We do everything we can to offer everyone a fun but, above all, responsible holiday. We follow the measures as recommended by the RIVM. For example, we alert our guests to keeping a distance of 1.5 meters, we take the necessary hygiene measures, we apply a maximum number of visitors and one-way traffic applies in our Safari Park. We assume that everyone takes his / her own responsibility and complies with the rules applicable at that time. We very much regret that you experienced the contrary during your visit and we therefore very much appreciate your feedback. We really hope to see you back in the future! Kind regards, Lisa - Team Beekse Bergen

We stayed in a small house with my 1 year old son. House is very dirty and the pillows stinks that I have to cover it with my own towel. We didn’t even finished our stay because we have lots of insect bites overall our body and now 2 days after leaving beekse Bergen we still have lots problem with the bites. I don’t understand why they didn’t cleaned everything good during this pandemic.
Park was great, lots to do for everyone. Clean beach area and lots of place to eat.
Safari park is highly recommended but not the accommodation. So please clean them very carefully for the next time.

Dear Chandagodinez, Thank you for completing our survey. It is nice that you share the findings of your stay at the Safari Resort with us. These findings are, after all, our most important indicator and with this we can optimally improve our service. We regret that according to your findings your accommodation was not in good order upon arrival. Libéma places high demands on the cleaning and maintenance of the accommodations. Unfortunately, this does not guarantee that mistakes can never be made and that a guest arrives in an accommodation that is not completely in order. Of course we will do our utmost in such a case to get things sorted as quickly as possible if we receive notification of this. I will forward your comments to the relevant departments so that they can adjust things where possible. In addition, I will also include your comments / experiences in our weekly consultation with the various departments. In this way we can together ensure that the Safari Resort will become a huge success in the future. We hope that in the future we may welcome you more often at one of our parks. In 2019 we stayed in a villa at the Beekse Bergen Safari Park while attending Best Kept Secret Festival nearby.

The festival was excellent and it was lovely to have proper accommodation at a festival - a house with a bath!

We’re not really into safari so didn’t get to experience that part of the park.

We decided to repeat the experience in 2020 and rebooked with them, paying them over €1700 for a villa for 4 days.

We paid them in January 2020 for a reservation in June. They had to close for due to Covid 19, although they are now open again. They promised to repay our €1700 in TWO YEARS! This was naturally ridiculous so after months of nagging them they finally agreed in June 2020 to repay me within two months. Over two months later I have had no money from them and suspect they are in trouble.

Every day I get told by them that they have put the money back on my debit card but they have not.

Seriously, beware, I’ve lost a large sum of money at Beekse Bergen and you could too. Pay at the last moment and pay with a credit card that gives you payment protection.
