The interactive presentation of the Roman thermal bathing house is very interesting. We weren't expecting much. We were willing to "take the risk" since we currently hold the Dutch Museum Card. It was worth it. The staff was very friendly. The concept of a Spa hasn't changed much in over 1000 years. Makes us wonder what happened with technology during... More

Took my three children (2 teens and a 9 year old) to this museum. There were quite a few interactive exhibits, which interested the children, and wonderfully preserved and diverse archives. Good use of technology coupled with history. We got the film in English and the English hand out. Wished I could have read Dutch, but the handouts helped. Helpful... More

The nice girl at the information desk provided us with great English translations of the exhibit. We just had to ask. They show you a film when you first enter, which can be in Dutch, German or English. We learned a lot about the Roman roads through this area of Europe and the highlight was the preserved Roman Bath ruins.... More

The foundations of these Roman therms are in pretty good shape, and among the nicest Roman remains in northern Europe. In addition there are nice archeological finds on display, with a richly decorated sarcophagus as a highlight.

I wasn't aware of the Roman Baths and Museum in Heerlen before arriving in the area but glad we stopped over. Well presented remains take up most of the floor space and it is supported by a fair sized museum housing local finds and you get an introduction movie on arrival (English was available). Special mention goes out to the... More

The museum is great. First, you will see a short movie describing the life there in the Roman time. After that, you can see the complex of the ancient Roman bath there. After that, you can see the exhibition. The museum is really good. The drawback is that the information given there is in Dutch, makes it very inconvenient for... More

I visited the museum with a friend of mine. Upon entering the building you get the choice to watch a film concerning the Roman baths and the Roman settlement of Heerlen. This film is available in four different languages: Dutch, English, German, and French (which came in very handy, given the fact that my friend is German). Afterwards we entered... More
