More like a real central square than nearby Grote Markt. Moreover no motorized vehicles here, just pedestrians and bicycles (lots of them). The square has a rectangular shape and is rounded by some historic buildings, though many have been added in the 1930s and 1950s....More

It literally sells everything and the later you arrive the better as the fruit and vegetable stalls offer Happy Hour. However it was shocking to see how much plastic was still being used and how trashed the place was when the market was over. There...More

The market is the right place to buy some quality products in reasonable prices and a nice open place to walk with friends

The market is a wonderful place to buy fresh fruit, vegetables and fish. Often great value and always nice to speak to the friendly people running the stalls.

4 to 5 days a week there is a market on Vismarkt, which has a variety of goods such as vegetables, cheese, nuts, herbs and of course fish. Great place to wander around for a while!

We are spending two months in the Netherlands, so eating out every meal is not economical. The market in Groningen has everything we need for meal preparation, and a meal to enjoy while we are there. It's a beautiful way to spend the day.
