Scene makes for a beautiful relaxation as the lake make a good backdrop to the busy flow of people doing their chores, good for photo ops.

It seems this is the central hangout area for most visitors. Whether to enjoy the scenery or take photos it is always filled with people especially at nights when the lights gives it a special glow. The fist day I arrived in Zurich I walked from my hotel to this area to get a feel of the city and I was not disappointed. The river, the gorgeous buildings and just the total ambiance was well worth it.

This is a very nice area in Zurich. The views on the Limat river make it wothwhile. Lot of good spots to take nice pictures as well.

This was the first area of Zurich we visited and it was nice. Lots of tourist and locals walking around. Lot of good spots for picture

Walking the Limmatquai which runs along both sides of the Limmat river through central Zurich is the best walk you can have here.
The river divides the city in two, with several bridges connecting both sides of the old town. All major sights are along Limmatquai, and best Zurich photos you'll get from here.

Our hotel was on this road, just opposite the river that takes you all the way down to the lake - it's a reasonably long walk, but a beautiful one. Lots of shops, cafes and bars to stop at too.

Walking along the Limmat river through Zurich, from Hauptbahnhof to Lake Zurich, and come back through Bahnhofstrasse gives a great overview of this compact and romantic old town. Lovely stroll, detouring into the old city and back and forth across the many bridges.

This promenade takes you along the Limmat and old town - with many shops (a bit more edgy than most of those on Bahnhofstrasse), churches, restaurants, cafes and the lovely Rathaus.
