I went here for two reasons - first, I wanted to eat something and have a quiet place to work, and second, I was curious to see the historic ambiente of the surrealists. Both aims were fulfilled perfectly by Cabaret Voltaire. First, it's an impressive place, full of history and full of modern art, as well - when I went there was an exhibition asking you, the visitor, to compose a poem based on your experience and to publicly perform it.. Second, I got a big table in a corner and could sit and work along, while people were coming in and out. Really a special place, go visit!…

Arrived for the absinthe, but upstairs appeared to be a beer / pub. At least, that's what I saw everyone ordering. The absinthe was behind the bar, but no real help with our order. Staff seemed awfully inexperienced - didn't have the ambience we expected. Was hoping for more typical 'absinthe bar' feel - and some suggestions. Left quickly.…
