    Must-visit spot in Zurich!
Lake Zurich is an amazing spot! In the morning we took a boat on the lake and in the evening we walked along the lake. It is absolutely amazing. The water is extremely clean and full of ducks and swans. There are also restaurants where you can eat while enjoying the view.

Beautiful lake to take a cost trip .
Large scenic lake with heaps of options to do a boat tour. We choose a 1.5 hour boat trip which gives you a good look at the lake and the sone of the beautiful houses around it. It was a sunny day so sat back and enjoyed it. The crew were all really friendly . You can order food or a drink as well.

    Beautiful views
We walked down to the waterfront to look over the lake itself. Nice scenery all around and we had a lot of nice upclose pictures with swans both swimming and laying about on the decks. Worth the walk from the train station to sit and enjoy for a little after Old Town.

This lake is the nerve centre of Zurich tourism. Most of the habitaiton is around this lake. One can sit on the shore and spend a whole day immersed in the scenic view from historic buildings, cruising boats, snow clad mountains, ducks,

One day in the city …
One day family tour through the city…which included boat ride in Lake Zurich and enjoying their public beach. We carried a back pack with basic beach stuff, and wore comfy shoes…because we walked 3-5 hours straight. Kids loved the slides at the public beach, and access to the cold refreshing waters was a great activity after walking in the august heat. Affordable and calming. Bring towels to the beach, and be patient because it can get crowded. I think it was about 6-10 franks for access. The family friend cruises- boat rides were scheduled with time. I think they left every 30 minutes from the city. We walked back to the city through the park, where the kids played and had an overall great time. It was a family outing fully focused on the kids, experiencing family activities while city seeing.

Stunning beauty and many recreational facilities
Lake Zurich is the largest lake in Switzerland. The lake is beautiful and offers many recreational facilities for holidaying or relaxing. The lake is surrounded by picturesque landscapes with the Swiss Alps visible at a distance. The shoreline is dotted with parks, beaches and promenades thereby making it popular for outdoor activities. One boat tour is free for those carrying train day passes. Tours on the lake are nominally priced and allow visitors to explore the lake and its surroundings. We crossed the lake in a ferry when visiting the Felsenegg vantage point. This ride is a little over 10 minutes of which you can have free time to enjoy the views for about 8 minutes. We were fortunate to see the Alps from a distance. No visit to Zurich is complete without seeing Lake Zurich. Munir D.

    Beautiful lake
This is a beautiful lake especially at nights. When I visited November it was a bit rainy, nonetheless i enjoyed the views. Especially when the buildings on both sides of the lake were lit up at night. It makes a great photo opt as well.

Do not miss a visit to Lake Zürich. It is beautiful and fun. It is nearby great restaurants and in the summer people jump in near the bridge providing a lot of entertainment if you are just sitting on the wall eating your lunch. We took a day trip here from Frankfurt, and really enjoyed our time together in this beautiful city.

Beautiful area. Good local fares. Only negative was the extreme cost of local taxis. Food was ok, beer was very good. Scenic and clean.

We caught the ferry back from the Lindt Museum (Kilchberg) to Zurich Burkliplatz in the rain and it was still stunning.

I can only imagine what it is like in other seasons, or when it has snowed.

Beautiful lake. Boat travel with ZVV or Limmatschiff is included as part of the Zurich public transport day ticket, (the distance you can travel depends on the zones you paid for on your travel pass. If you have just Zurich city - zone 110 , then you can travel until Zurichorn, Enge, and other points within Zurich city.

You can buy food and drinks and it is an especially beautiful experience on a day with nice weather.

It is the lake Zurich that I believe is the primary feature that make Zurich, Europes's prettiest

When I was in Zurich and had a couple of hours to kill ahead of a business meeting I walked down to the Burkliplatz and took the Short Lake Cruise. This 1.5 hour duration cruise costs just CHF8.80 for an Adult and was a very pleasant trip that went down as far as Erlenbach on the NE shore of the Lake and then across to Thalwil on the SW shore of the lake. The boat makes 8 stops during the 1.5 hour trip and food and drinks can be purchased on the boat. It is certainly great value for money and a nice way to see the beautiful Lake Zurich (Zurichsee).

As we had the Swiss Travel Pass, a boat trip on Lake Zurich was included. We did the four hour trip, and stopped at Rapperswil where we spent some time before catching the boat back to the main pier.

It was pleasant enough, on a slightly cloudy day, but some of the other lakes in this beautiful country are probably even more scenic, such as Lake Lucerne.

Note that they provide catering on the boat (food and drink) and if you happen to be sitting in those sections of the boat when it is lunchtime then you will be asked to vacate your seat!

Lake Zurich is a lovely lake in a very picturesque area and as our first introduction to Switzerland and the many city lakes, it was a great first impression. Plus, the weather was perfect. The lake is lined with houses and interesting little beaches, a number of ferry stops and a lot of greenery and is a hive of boating activity.
While one can catch a ferry from one stop to another, there are also formal boat cruises - all you have to do, is to decide on what duration cruise you would like to do, between the Mini Cruise, Short Cruise and Long Cruise. Google it to help with your decision, but whatever you do in Zurich, make sure a lake cruise is one of your activities.

If your plans include a bit of time this lake is something to see. We took a short boat ride and so enjoyed the scenery and the staff and the beer. Prices were very reasonable and you get to see so many beautiful places and it is so relaxing after a long travel day.
