what a panorama

the bar on top is very small, but a very lovely place to have one of the best panoramas over zürich. go there during day as its really overcrowded with after-work guests.

Enjoy watching the moon at the Urania Sternwarte or have a great view on the city and the lake from the Jules Verne Bar on the top floor! Enjoy a nice drink.

The Observatory is very close to the town's main street, Bahnhofstrasse. It offers an amazing view of the town and a decent cup of coffee with pastry. Recommended to all tourists visiting Zurich for the 1st time.

Cocktails and panorama are a great combo and this is quiet lovely, but often packed. The restaurant downstairs is not worth a second look as the service and arrogant staff make it a very unpleasant experience.

The observatory in the middle of the city is not the best place to see stars but if you are able to join a tour you get a lot of interesting information on the historic building and observatory. After the tour don't miss taking a drink in the Jules Verne bar just one floor below with a beautiful view over... More

A must see site in Zurich after a nice dinner at Brasserie Lipp and a drink at the Jules Verne. The scenery over Zurich is just splendid from the top! Don't forget your camera!

Incredible surrounding view of Zurich from the observatory. Bad points where that we had to endure at least an hour of Deutsch explanations of the planets and the sun and moon, with only about 10% of it being translated into english for us. Then at the end of the presentation it was too cloudly to see anything :(

I was lucky enough to be in a small group that was given a private tour. From the scientific point of view the middle of a city is the last place you want to have an observatory. But for the inhabitants of and visitors to the city, it's so handy.

Worth a visit for every youngster. I dont know any other place that allows you to look through a 20 ton telescope and see Venus, Mars and Saturn. During summer the show goes on till quite late (past 10pm) to eat and go.

I lovedmy visit to the observatory. The fact that we were able to use a telescope made 105 years ago and it works so well... We saw mercury (rare opportunity), the moon, Saturn ... The guide is this great amateur who has a passion for what he does. If you love astronomy, please visit
